A well appointed guest house with everything you need. Beautifully and comfortably decorated. The living areas flow and are conducive to spending good quality time together. Air con throughout, which was so necessary as the daily temperatures were in the mid thirties. A tiny pool, a bit too small, but enough to wet yourself and cool down. A waterhole and birdbath provides Wildlife entertainment. The resident hogs are wonderful to watch. The bedrooms are luxurious and comfortable too. Had some good sleeps. Saint, was the lady that housekept. She did a gracious job and was appreciated immensely. Close to Kruger Park, we went in through Orpen Gate and returned through Phalaborwa Gate - a stunning day in the bush

There is no plugs to charge laptops and cell phones, No Tv in the room, No Wifi password available and the frogs are sooo loud. at fist I thought is wild animal so we need to warned about it at least. I could not go buy food thinking is one of predators.

A short stop on our tour of the area. It was very relaxing and peaceful. Very high standard of accommodation made it feel very luxurious. Kitchen facilities were very good for self-catering but close enough to town for eating out..

Was a great place to stay, with the highlight of being able to watch impala grazing outside our bedroom window, and Natal Spurfowl browsing the ground! Even though it is very close to the city centre, one could almost imagine one was in the deep bush - just the sound of cars every now and then to ruin that illusion.

I visited a week ago and today I am just here to say hi to the housekepper. Zodwa welcomes me with a hug this time, instead of the handshake I got the previous week. She is the housekeeper and her smile and warmth gives the place a welcoming allure. The lodgings are great for an outdoorsy person. There is a clean welcoming pool-nyana for when the heat gets too much. I have already recommended this place to my colleagues and will continue to do so.

We Stayed at GeM Bateleur Lodge as part of our honeymoon in end March beginning of April. Being on a wildlife estate this offers you the freedom that you would not necessarily experience on a safari lodge. We saw loads of animals and birds including giraffe, waterbuck, zebra, bush babies, warthogs, impala, mongoose, porcupine, hornbill, European roller, bush lorie and many more. The accommodation at Gem Bateleur was first class. It was always kept clean and the bedrooms are very luxurious with both aircon and ceiling fan. We loved having a nice camp fire going in the evening while winding down from the exiting adventure of the day. There is loads to do in the Hoedspruit area. We would highly recommend Gem Bateleur Lodge.

Beautiful lodge with all the amenities you need. Only negative is the small amount of traffic you can hear but its not serious. The two lodge attendants (Zodwa and Johannes) were highly attentive, efficient and eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Our rooms were gorgeous and comfortable. We loved the Wildlife Estate and had an enjoyable early morning walk around it.

great place to relax, peacefull and very comfortable. Zodwa and Johannes were great! R450 per head including kids is a little bit hard though. Pity about the road being so close to the house as the vehicle often drive past.
