Pafuri Camp is the most northern camp of the Kruger. It is located in a private concession and has a relaxed atmosphere. The 20 chalets all face the beautiful Luhvuhe river. They are well equipped and spacious with an outside shower. Some are family chalets and accommodate 4 persons. The beautiful swimmingpool is a bonus. The staff is helpful and...

I don't know where to begin. From the moment I sent the first email inquiring about our stay, the team at Pafuri Camp was beyond helpful and accommodating. I asked a TON of questions and bombarded them with emails, but they never once made me feel like I was a bother. I decided on the Baobab Hill Bush House for...

We stayed at Pafuri Lodge for 4 nights. We were curious how the Northern Park of the Kruger is as we have travelled all across the park. Pafuri Camp is situated in an extremely beautiful landscape. Maybe the most beautiful in the Kruger for us. It is very quite almost no traffic and you can find lots of wild life....

I have had the great pleasure of spending 5 nights at this wonderful and magical spot. The camp is a wonderful example of everything one would hope to find in a Safari location. Wonderful canvas rooms stand watch over the Luvuvhu River which each day saw a near constant caravan of wildlife. The last day I was there there were...

Pafuri Trails camp is definitely an incredible experience! I loved the freedom of the walks and having Mike as our trails guide/ranger made the experience even more unforgettable, he is extremely knowledgeable and passionate and I would highly recommend him. The area is amazing with all the different fauna and flora, it is definitely a must see!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pafuri Camp lies along a bend of the Luvuvhu River shaded by enormous jackal and nyala berry trees. Its 19 tents are en-suite under thatch with indoor and outdoor showers. The main area, with its large deck, open-sided lounge dining room and swimming pool, is perfect for relaxing and watching the wildlife drawn to the Luvuvhu to drink. The colourful fabrics reflect the culture of the Makuleke community with whom Return Africa has partnered. The Makuleke Concession is explored through a variety of activities, ranging from game drives in open vehicles to walks and trails and ideally complements the scenery, experience and game viewing. The Pafuri Walking Trail exploration is the ideal way to experience the spectacular, private Makuleke Concession of the northern Kruger National Park. It is perhaps the best area for walking in the entire Park and is blessed not only with exceptional biodiversity but also spectacular scenery, seasonally high densities of many large mammal species, a feeling of wilderness and remoteness, and a sense of history. Using one campsite as a base, each day is spent in different parts of the 26 500-hectare concession, walking along the pathways made over the years by its animal inhabitants and following their tracks. Undoubtedly the most remote and wild walking experience in South Africa, with a huge diversity of habitat, wildlife and birdlife. Experienced, knowledgeable and passionate guide walks with the guests throughout. Private access to the concession with no impact of vehicles. On-foot tracking experiences, big game viewing and outstanding birding. An exclusive and remote camp location. Access into the legendary Lanner Gorge basin and the mystic Limpopo fever tree forest. The season operates from 01 April to 31 October, with departures every Monday and Friday. ... more   less
