Not for the ordinary guest- only for people who are curious, enthusiastic and vital - there is so much happening there / full moon walks, up close and personal with the elephant whisperer and her Ellie's, study the history of the Makaleke's - BEYOND

Situated in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa, the Pafuri region has everything you need to experience true wilderness. Unlike the south of the Kruger the North is quiet and because the Makuleke concession only contains one public road and two camps in 24,000 hectares you rarely see another car when driving the gravel roads. The Baobabs,...

We had a great time in pafuri luxury tent. Te staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and the tent was very nice and confortable. We really had an amazing experience. The games where amazing! Even though we didn't see any lions or leopards (a great excuse to come back!) we really enjoy our time with Wiseman,...

Baobab Hill is the ideal way to explore this diverse and unique area. The laid back style lends to a total immersion into the splendor of the Makuleke Contractual park. Despite the rains we saw wonderful game during our 4 nights stay and even though we were not too worried about game viewing as we were there to bird, on...

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Pafuri camp. At the camp, we were shown great hospitality, service and quality of accommodation was top-tier, and the food was outstanding. While out on game drives the guides were extremely informative and the game viewing was breath-taking, especially with such a lush park at this time of year - we particularly enjoyed...

Wonderful "out in the wild" experience, beautiful camp and great game drives. One doesn't come up here for the big5 and cats but for everything else to enjoy in nature and Pafuri Camp exactly matches this expectations in green and lush surroundings at summer time. Our guide Vongani was awesome and we enjoyed the drives with him a lot. Views...

We were a family of 5 travelling into South Africa through Cape Town, then to Pafuri Camp in Kruger National Park (via Johannesburg) and finally out through Johannesburg. Two things to remember when coming to South Africa: (1) You need an original birth certificate for children under 16 years old and (2) you require 2 blank pages on your passport...

Pafuri is a great spot to spend time in the bush, has fantastisch facilities, a great kitchen and staff. Nature is untouched, gamedrives are great, dont expect to see the big 5, but scenery and birds are worthwhile to discover!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pafuri Camp lies along a bend of the Luvuvhu River shaded by enormous jackal and nyala berry trees. Its 19 tents are en-suite under thatch with indoor and outdoor showers. The main area, with its large deck, open-sided lounge dining room and swimming pool, is perfect for relaxing and watching the wildlife drawn to the Luvuvhu to drink. The colourful fabrics reflect the culture of the Makuleke community with whom Return Africa has partnered. The Makuleke Concession is explored through a variety of activities, ranging from game drives in open vehicles to walks and trails and ideally complements the scenery, experience and game viewing. The Pafuri Walking Trail exploration is the ideal way to experience the spectacular, private Makuleke Concession of the northern Kruger National Park. It is perhaps the best area for walking in the entire Park and is blessed not only with exceptional biodiversity but also spectacular scenery, seasonally high densities of many large mammal species, a feeling of wilderness and remoteness, and a sense of history. Using one campsite as a base, each day is spent in different parts of the 26 500-hectare concession, walking along the pathways made over the years by its animal inhabitants and following their tracks. Undoubtedly the most remote and wild walking experience in South Africa, with a huge diversity of habitat, wildlife and birdlife. Experienced, knowledgeable and passionate guide walks with the guests throughout. Private access to the concession with no impact of vehicles. On-foot tracking experiences, big game viewing and outstanding birding. An exclusive and remote camp location. Access into the legendary Lanner Gorge basin and the mystic Limpopo fever tree forest. ... more   less
