Our stay at Nungubane couldn't have been more perfect. Staff were warm and welcoming. rooms were lovely, and the food delicious (the chef even went above and beyond for a vegan member of our party!). And our guide Josphat was amazing. Full of fun facts and knowledge of the bush, a genuine passion for the subject and a joy to... More

Excellent game lodge! We saw lots of animals, only a few jeeps are at the same spot. Very nice game drive, but also great view from the lodge itself, so even during breakfast or lunch there is a lot to see. Very friendly people that help you with everything. Luxurious lodges, great experience!

It was a birthday weekend getaway and we were extremely spoilt that no words can express how we feel. The staff are extremely professional yet warm and friendly and very accommodating. We felt that the staff made our memories very special. Livingstone the chef is excellent and a perfectionist in everything he makes and it's served with such creativity, we... More

This was our first safari experience. We recently stayed for a week and had the best time. The staff were outstanding at every turn and we felt as though we were welcomed into their Nungubane family. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them, without exception. The food was delicious and the accommodation was secluded, spacious, very clean and well... More

Beautiful lodge, really friendly staff, excellent food. Chalets were spotless, great views, very comfortable beds and a fireplace for the cooler evenings. Saw loads of interesting animals on the game drives. Elephants, lions, lots of white rhino, buffalo, giraffes, hippo, cheetah out hunting impala. I cannot recommend this place enough! All the staff were great, looking forward to going back... More

This is a small quiet lodge in the Welgevonden game reserve; but, great for a peaceful getaway, and not too far from Johannesburg. The game rangers are wonderfully knowledgeable and open to many questions. Viewing of smaller game is excellent. We were lucky enough to see a cheetah on the hunt... The staff are friendly, accommodating, and give you just... More

Convenient and comfortable getaway. Close to JHB (3hr drive). Staff was great, Skye the ranger and manager was excellent at hosting with great knowledge of the reserve. The only thing better than Livingstone the chef's food was his great character.

Easy drive from Gauteng on good roads - shaded parking at Welgevonden West Gate. Skigh picked us up and the game viewing started on the 35 minute drive to the Lodge. All the staff turned out to personally welcome us with hot hand towels and welcome drinks. What lovely friendly and enthusiastic welcome we had - put us in a... More

We took our son and his new wife to Nungabane for 2 nights. It was her first visit to SA and her first experience of the bush, wildlife and game drives. We all had a wonderful time, the lodge is small, the rooms are beautiful and pretty private from one another. The staff were incredibly friendly and Livingstone and Anna... More
