Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great accommodation when traveling to the Cape. A little bit out of town but a beautiful Horse farm with great facilities. Very well equipped. The welcome was very friendly. It's bike friendly with only approx 800m of dirt road. Very secure parking and very quiet.

Great spot to relax and spend the night during a road trip. The family enjoyed exploring the areas around the farm house. Clean and comfortable. 15km from town with no shop or restaurant - just remember to bring with you whatever you will need for dinner and breakfast.

We just spent 8 nights here and it was lovely. The rooms are all comfortable, well-equipped for self-catering and the setting is quiet and close to town. It is a lovely spot and Christine the owner is a gracious host. This is also an equestrian facility so you get the added benefit of watching the 25 horses who also live here. Delightful spot and an easy drive into Kimberley.

A very clean room, with good bed and linen, good shower room. Nice for over night and off the beaten track.
Interesting and friendly horses and dogs on farm. We stayed just one night, on our way to Namibia - but if you are into horses, this could be the place for you.

We wanted to stay outside Kimberley in transit rather than in the town itself. Did not quite get the quiet farm experience but for a one night stop over it was perfectly adequate. Beds comfortable, kitchen small and difficult to move in, shower good. Could have done without the staff working outside the unit.

This self catering facility is excellent and great stop over. Ten kilometres from the Kimberley Groot Gat/Big Hole. The accommodation is clean, well stocked with ample braai facilities and a large swimming pool.

Mein Heim guesthouse is situated about 16km outside of Kimberley and we used it as a stopover en route to Gauteng and Pretoria.
It is located on a stud farm and there is planty of opportunities to feed some of the horses and ponies on the farm. There is also some antelope (springbok) in a large camp and although it was difficult to get close to them it was fun for all of us to watch them from adistance. Some large but friendly dogs quickly become part of your stay and there is a large enclosed pool that is very welcome in the stifling heat. The house is huge and we stayed in one part thereof without even being aware of the rest of the guests. The Living room, kitchen and rooms is huge and very stylishly decorated. Old style with enough of the modern so we were more than happy. Free wi-fi kept the kids happy enough. We stayed for one night and the owners made us feel really special.

Verdict: I highly recommend the place as a stop over...if you are staying for more than a few days, keep in mind that it is a fair distance to Kimberley and you would require transport if you need to fill up on provisions.
