Totally disappointing!! Breakfast served cold and raw. Broken light bulbs and plaster in room. Curtains not closed at night and bed not turned down- very unusual for a 4*! Noisy construction all around lodge. No water pressure in shower. Staff were friendly and lodge is central to Cape Town activities.

Room 2 was not well maintained...Paint peeling off the walls in the shower, paint peeling off the ceilings, TV channels not working ...I generally don't moan but I was disappointed. Location is good they just need to do some repairs.......

Fabulous colonial style at the end of a cul-de-sac. Michelle, the owner is very helpful and has a nice little honesty bar which is very useful when in need of a cold beer. The stars of the show have to be Eunice and Simon, they greet you in the morning with welcome smiles and serve up a delicious breakfast, always...

Very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff made us feel very welcome. The location is great as it is close to the V&A Waterfront, not fat from public transport. We will definitely be coming back and will gladly recommend Romney Lodge to our friends.

Our friends recommend Romney very highly when they were there in February so we booked it for a week while visiting the Cape Town area. It is situated on a dead end cul de sac so it is very quiet at night. Taxis were easy to get by walking up to the Main Street. The rooms and bathroom were comfortable....

What a treat this was. The place is decorated so that it feels very much like a lodge - but not in a cheesy way - it just feels right. I didn't realise it at first, but considering it is so close to the city and above Sea Point, the quietness of the place really makes you feel relaxed. There...

My mom and I stayed at the lodge for a few days in July. Although I agree with the guests that the place is beautifully decorated, and is very clean, I did have a few suggestions for improvement. The patio door was warped and did not close at night, which did not leave me feeling safe at night. Also, the...

It's central, it's clean, it's beatifully furnished (the owner told us that he buys all the furniture at auctions - a real collector). The owner was very helpful and assisted us in organizing lots of activities. His cook must be the most adorable person you'll meet south of the equator!

Romney Lodge was our first stop during a 3 week trip to South Africa. Our host, Philip was extremely welcoming and always made time to chat to us during breakfast. He gave us some valuable tipps and chatting to him was very interesting. We loved the decor of the rooms and the entire house, We had a spacious family room,...
