I'm Hilton Diamond. I don't expect rose petals to be strewn wherever I walk, but I do expect to be treated with a little 'hilton' respect? I pretty much expected this to be a bad stay with the email interaction prior to the stay. I was informed after asking about Diamond

Dear Dropdeadfred Thank you for your review. I am truly sorry to hear about your experience as it is clearly not the experience my team and I would like to provide. Realizing we cannot undo what you’ve experienced, I would nonetheless welcome the opportunity to speak to you personally to see how we can still make it right for you. Would you kindly send me a message with your contact details? Kind regards, Ernst van Zutphen General Manager Ernst.vanzutphen@hilton.com

Arrived at hotel after midnight and traveling for over 26 hours. Given a room with used towels and other signs the housekeeping was way below normal for Hilton. Let the front desk know and mentioned I am a Diamond member. After 20 minutes and another call we were in another

The waterfront is fab for food and has a great vibe. Great shops and local African buskers. You can take boat trips, even sunset trips, also take a boat to Robbin Island from there to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned. It’s always busy with locals and tourists. The Hilton runs a free bus to waterfront. Last November was our 20th visit, I think that says it all! Enjoy

How large is the pool area and does It get crowded?
Pretty small, I assume it gets crowded during summer (was pretty busy in winter)

It is No Smoking in the lounge! The hotel staff are fantastic and I would definitely say this is the place to stay.

Is this hotel located in a safe area? Thank you
Yes and no! We have walked in the evening around this area to go to some really nice local eateries and the only problem is people begging for money which can sometimes feel threatening but in fairness you would more likely be using taxis to move about or your own rental car. It is a lot cheaper than staying in a hotel at the waterfront and with all the money you save you can use that to pay for taxis and food. In conclusion like any main city you need to be switched on.
