My husband and I stayed at An African Villa for 4 nights before we left on the Garden Route, and 1 night when we returned. I highly recommend this Guest House. The décor immediately gets you in a South African mood, and the employees are...More
What a wonderful find this place was. We stayed four nights and felt like we got a glimpse into the real Cape Town. Excellent room, great restaurants nearby, a view of Table Mountain, even a packed breakfast for an early morning tour. Louis, the manager,...More
This B and B is located in a nice neighborhood with decent rooms. However it is not within walkable distance to centre city, Need a taxi or Uber to go anywhere. We were a large group of ten with a few elderly people. No one...More

It saddens me deeply that your group had a disappointing time with us. I realize we can’t be everything to everybody, but we learned from this experience that the dynamics with a big group wanting maximum flexibility are more challenging than dealing with...More
I just wanted to write a quick note about our wonderful stay at An African Villa. I was traveling with my almost 14-year-old daughter and her same age friend this past August.
First of all, the location was right where you'd want to be. Tamboerskloof...More
We arrived late in the evening after traveling for 24 hours. We were warmly greeted and taken immediately to our room. We were then given a quick tour of the dining, kitchen and patio areas so we were fully versed and ready to hit the...More
The Villa comprises two houses which form part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. These double stories have been joined and so the inside spaces are very spacious. “It's like walking into a tardis” …Moresomeone has written on Tripadvisor! The hotel is owner managed. Location is vital when choosing a vacation venue and the Villa is within an easy walk of most tourist attractions while some, (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter we serve in a sociable dining room with an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts will happily arrange car rental, restaurant bookings, tours etc if required. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available in all rooms. A staff member is on duty throughout the night to offer complimentary port and sherry and there is also an honesty bar available. Parking is on street at no charge (with street guard) - though most manage without a car. Less

Hello, thanks for your interest in An African Villa. Much as we love little ones, we are not able to accept children under 12 years as guests. The building is unsuited and other guests are too inconvenienced by the disruption which they often cause. So sorry! Jimmy
