We stayed for one night on Valentines Day. Warm welcome when we arrived with a glass of "fizz", skewer of melon and chocolates! We had a spacious Riverview suite which had a comfortable large bed, a small kitchenette , TV area and ensuite corner bath and walk in shower. The decor was excellent. There were also complimentary sherry, chocs and...

We booked for two nights but should have booked for much longer. A warm welcome on arrival. Accommodation is spacious, neat, clean and amazing view of the river and forests. It's so tranquil and peaceful. On site activities which kept us busy. Thoroughly enjoyed the canoe. Restaurant on site, which was so convenient is highly recommended. Good food and good staff....

We stayed for 2 nights at Blackwaters River Lodge and wish we had stayed longer. The attention to detail, from booking, to check in, the rooms, around the resort and including check out was unsurpassed. The little touches like home made biscuits in your room, complimentary sherry, even as to how they placed a little tree pod with your rolled...

Beautiful spacious room with big balcony and views over the river and forest. Make sure you get the canoes out, and paddle left to the Riverdeck bar. (Take some money for a quick stop!) restaurant is ok, food is good but fairly limited menu after 4 days. Can always taxi into knysna though,

We have just returned from our gorgeous holiday in South Africa. We spent four nights at the Blackwaters River Lodge and cannot speak highly enough of it. Our room overlooked the ground and the river and we were even visited one afternoon by a family of monkeys! This was an incredibly tranquil place, everyone was so kind and helpful and...

So happy we got to stay here. Arrived early and offered to use the pool, lounge or machie course facilities whilst our room was being finished. Later in the day we went for a drive into Buffels Bay and walk on the beach, highly recommended. The owners are charming and we wish them the best as they went out of...

Tranquil, beautiful view and comfortable. No private entrance or private deck on River suites. I didn't like having people pass my room nor did I feel comfortable passing theirs. I feel that the space and privacy does not reflect the price paid so in that regard it is not 100 % value.
