Professional, friendly staff - no request too much for them to deal with. A problem with the water supply caused some discomfort for guests, but Jowine and Riëtte did all they could to handle the situation effectively. Breakfasts were excellent. Barbecue and formal dinner menu catered by Chef Rudi were expensive, but outstanding in taste and especially presentation. Available winelist... More

Unfortunately the estate was disappointing. The room was not what we expected or what was highlighted in the website. We ordered a king suite and altough the room we had was nice it was not a suite just a typical hotel double room. The grounds are very nice and dinner was very good indeed but not rather pricey at R400... More

The food fro breakfast and dinner was first class and the opportunity to meet other guests over a sundowner on the deck was a nice touch. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights and enjoyed our meals. Candlelit tables were set in the garden making for a beautiful setting. The room was comfortably furnished and the bed and bed linen were very... More

I did think of 4 stars, but now a month since we were there February 15 and 16, I recall these two days of our ten in the Cape with great fondness. I see other reviews use words like elegant, exquisite, royal. Well it's not that. But it is charming and welcoming. The estate is very pretty Cape Dutch, set... More

Palmiet hosted a our wedding for 30 people and we couldn't have been more pleased. The place itself is outstanding. Very authentic, beautiful & romantic. Jowine, the hotel manager made sure it was a smooth and professionel process from start to end. She is a very warm and caring person, which impacted the wedding "vibe" very much. We send our... Excellent location for sightseeing in the area, including wineries and historical sights. Delightful spacious rooms, all individually furnished with antiques from the area. Excellent food usually served in the garden. Sundowners watching the sun set on the mountains while meeting staff and guests was always a pleasure. Excellent staff always service minded and smiling. “May-be the more upscale rooms are better - look for others who write ratings over these. The pool and dinner are however the same for everyone. Room nr.7 looked to us to be a larger standard room - others were substantially smaller more like the size of the bed plus a few meters.”
