Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a delightful place to stay in the Alentejo in Portugal! Miguel and his wife have built a few charming and thoughtfully furnished cabins among the eucalyptus trees. Rustic but very comfortable: wood stove with plenty of wood, great shower, little kitchen with real espresso - and a fantastic breakfast. We had the Casa Azul which has a magnificent carved bed made by monks in northern Portugal. For 100/night this is excellent value for money!

Everything you read about these cottages is accurate. They are well located and well equipped. We particularly liked the large fluffy towels, crisp white bedding and delicious breakfasts delivered to our door every morning. High speed internet and lovely log fire make this a great place to stay in Winter. The cottages are pet friendly and the hosts Miguel and Ana helpful. All in all great value for money. We will be back.

We were lucky enough to try this place in the off-season. I could have stayed a week easily but we only had two nights. Breakfast is wonderful coming at 9AM (a normally civilized time) and includes fresh baked bread. Miguel is an excellent host. There are some amazing (and very inexpensive -- not "cheap" which would suggest a substandard meal) restaurants nearby. You can like a fire in the cast iron stove. There is a kitchen which you have more than enough capacity to make your own meals. The bed was comfortable. This is a wonderful place to just sit back and relax.

We stayed 4 nights. We were not blessed with good weather so the cottage was an important part of our stay. It is set in a rural location - a small lake and wildlife area. Bikes to borrow. A wood burning stove (which we needed as it was cold and wet outside) a well equipped kitchen. Amazing breakfasts delivered each morning. The bathroom and shower were good and the bed comfortable. A relaxing place to be and spotlessly clean. The owners had put a lot of work into making this a very special place. Lots of lovely walks and birdwatching nearby- we saw lots of bee eaters. There is a small mini market about 2km away and a larger supermarket 8-10or so km away. Definately a place to choose again

When we drove up, we were not sure . . . When we left, we celebrated our good fortune. Again, you don't judge a book by its cover. This is a special little place, a very cozy apartment-like accommodation; a specially prepared breakfast, the best we could imagine. Lovely hosts. Down the road, a great little seafood restaurant. Further down that road, a dramatic yet usable beach. Great place to bicycle, too. Quiet and perfect. Worth a drive. Five stars.

This was our favourite place to stay in Portugal. It felt like being at a cottage, but with breakfast delivered to your door and daily cleaning. We were greeted with lemonade, fresh fruit and an upgraded room! The one-bedroom suite is amazingly spacious, with a kitchen, dining room, living room, separate bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is very well stocked. There are bicycles you can use to get into Brejao or to check out the beautiful beaches nearby. That said, a car really is needed to get to the area, and there is lots of parking. Miguel was happy to share his favourite spots for sunbathing and eating. We highly recommend this place!

Spend time on the Via Vicentina Fisherman's Walk. The nearby beaches are dramatic and superb. The pastries and cakes for breakfast are exquisite. The evening meals which we ordered in our room were simple and elegant and most importantly delicious. Our daughter loved the fresh lemonade that was always available. Anna and Miguel are serious about hospitality. This is a beautiful place in a gorgeous part of Portugal.

The fresh lemonade on arrival makes an excellent first impression. Miguel and Ana were lovely and friendly and are happy to help with recommendations. I was sad to only stay for one night and I'll definitely make an effort to return! The grounds and cottages are fantastic and has everything you'd need with very comfy beds. My personal highlight was breakfast with door service and fresh bread! One thing, beware when using sat nav as mine sent me into a farmers field. Don't turn off the road until the sign for Brejão!

I loved this place, is very calm and our owner is nice person. The most fantastic breakfast to your own table, delicious. I liked the style of the flat, the decor in the rooms is rustic and charmig. I felt very good in this place.
