Compact but stylish hotel in the bohemian barrio of San Telmo. 2 blocks from the Plaza Dorrego with its cafe, bars and tango displays. It serves a good continental breakfast is staffed by efficient and charming staff. My single room was small - especially the bathroom - but spotless and quiet. Beds comfortable. Good value. I would come back and/or...

The hotel became our oasis in a horrible wheather. Good and well functioning room and bathroom. Close to the market in San Telmo with restaurants and bars. Good in the heavy rain. Nice and helpful personal. Good breakfast. The restaurant at the hotel was closed during weekends. Pretty much noice from the heavy traffic on Paseo Colon.

Arrived wiht my husband, checked in and went to really small room (and I am used to small hotel rooms!). Window just opened 5 cm on the upper side and AIR CONDOITIONING WASN'T WORKING, The very nice girl at the receptions promissed us a better room in two hours. That is all the bad side of our stay. Everything else...

Located on busy main road in graffitif filled/dirty row. Room was extremely small and on main rooad so extremely noisy - had to pay $50 a night to upgrade to a normal sized room (we had booked thru booking.com) which itself not special and what I would have expected as a mimumum. Wish we hadn't booked ahead as at least...

This is a little gem to be found in San Telmo. It is a small hotel, with excellent service and beautifully decorated rooms. It is relaxed and unpretentious. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is not bad either - good offers for lunch! Overall, really good value. Would highly recommend it!!

The pictures showed it as a designed, stylish little hotel. Some of them appear to be true, but after being there, I would say that the hotel lacks of maintenance and general care, so the whole concept fails; like there is no manager hanging around. After a long trip from Paris, we wanted to rest in the room that was...

If you like a boutique hotel that is clean, provides a simple breakfast and a convenient location, then you will be happy to find this little pleasant hideaway in San Telmo, one of the oldest districts in BA. The hotel staff are pleasant, internet is complimentary, electricity adaptors are available, breakfast is mostly a cold buffet with nice flaky croissants,...

It is a nice hotel in a neighborhood full of things to be discovered. Small rooms but yet confortable. The negative side during our stay was being awaked by children running in the corridor. Because of the size of the hotel and the expected quiteness, children do not fit in a hotel like this. May be a regulation accepting only...

I made our reservation on Expedia, several weeks in advance, but did not call the day or few days before to confirm. Definitely a mistake. We got there, the receptionist spoke no English, and told us she was sending us to a different hotel, the Americana Plaza Hotel. She said she would pay for the cab ride there. Once in...

I was nervous when the cab dropped us off on what looked like a highway with somewhat dilapidated storefronts and a McDonalds, but we were pleasantly surprised to enter such a cool, modern lobby with the best pool in the back! Our room was itty-bitty, so tiny in fact that we weren't sure where to put our suitcases. Unfortunately, we...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
