I stayed in this hostel 2 years ago and then forgot to write a comment about what happened. Anyways, when I was there in February 2012, there was an armed robbery in the hostel in day time. The robbers took away money and electronic devices. The concern is that I was then explained it wasn't the first time this had...

From beginning to end we felt very unwelcome in this hostel. The staff was unfriendly and not helpfull at all. Except for the cleaner. The bed was horrible, bed springs were popping out of the mattress stabbing me in the back, curtains tore apart, VERY dirty bathroom, noisy.. We stayed here for four nights and every time we checked, something...

We stayed at Milonga hostel just for one day, although our reservation was for 5 days. The room is too dirty and smells like an old one with 50 years old! We saw spiders in the room door. We decided to pay a tax for the reservation not used and go to other hotel. I never recomend this place, even...

This hostel is well located in Barrio Norte, near everything. The hostel rooms I stayed which were 3 types (single, double and dorms) are low quality. The price for the dorms is very fair, but for the single and double room is not worthy. The breakfast is very little and the kitchen was most of the time disorganized. From what...

Very well located in Recoleta district, but apart from that it´s a basic service - our room backed onto a very noisy street so 6AM and midnight you´ll hear heavy traffic outside. The staff are friendly enough. Breakfast is very basic. We stayed in another hotel, the Hotel Recoleta for 20% more per night (with a negotiated discount for staying...

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
