+ve. We were upgraded from a standard double to a superior double which was great, the only small issue was that our bathroom was outside the room but not a major problem. The bed was very comfy and the air conditioning was a plus. Location is good in San Telmo neighbourhood, close to bars and restaurants. -ve. The girl in...

Very good staff (they were very helpfull). The price is not expensive at all. The location is nice, good neighborhood, it is very easy to walk to any part of buenos aires. They have clean baths and the breakfast is ok (not too many options or variety but it works.)

We really liked the hostel and enjoyed our stay there but one of the things that could really be improved was the kitchen, which was often very messy throughout the day, sinks full of dirty dishes that were often stopped up with water with floating rice, pasta, etc. Disgusting really. There seemed to be no one in charge. The one...

Buenos aires is so big that it is hard to find a perfect location. But this hostal's placement was right by a big busy street where i found local artisans and free tango classes and cheap restaurants. The hostal has an equiped kitchen, a cute open space at the back but mostly when i was there, there was a very...

I checked into this hostel because my go south booklet offered a discount. I was not disappointed. Intended to stay one night, stayed six days. The staff is so helpful. One girl even went so far as to call the ferry companies for me because my Spanish is terrible. I can't say enough good things about them. Great facilities, great...

This place was one of the greatest hostels I've ever stayed at over the last decade. My first and last base in Feb/March 2015. The atmosphere is excellent for making new friends and being social, I met people from all over the world. Memories and parties I'll never forget

Great value for price. The staff is super friendly, they organize dinners a few times a week that sometimes turn into nice little parties ( that always end at midnight). Great place to meet fun people, but also a great place to relax. The rooms and bathrooms are ok, but the common areas are very enjoyable. The kitchen is big...

I loved the atmosphere, the people.. the place and the location. So many options for food, bars and pubs nearby. Also markets etc... whatever i say falls short. I've had a great time in here so far and i plan to come back here whenever i hit buenos aires.

We spent six good nights in a private double room. The room was big, very clean and comfortable. It was great to have air conditioning and a decent private bathroom. The staff were very helpful and the location is good for getting around to the main sites. Only downside was the moudly odour the bathroom produced but this is easily...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
