I can´t speak highly of the staff, hostel or the services offered here. The name is a misnomer - It´s called a hostel, but it should be called a hotel! For the price you pay, the hostel is incredibly clean (the rooms are cleaned everyday and sheets changed everyday), the dorms are big enough, the breakfast is one of the...

This is a wonderful hostel. The location is near the centre of town and you can easily walk everywhere. Or as Buenos Aires is so big, the bus stops are just three blocks away. The staff very friendly and helpful. This hostel is new and clean with a great vibe.

My husband and I recently stayed here for 4 nights while visiting BA. I found the staff to be incredibly helpful - they answered all our questions and helped us book many of our activities while in BA. The common areas were nice inviting spaces. We booked a private room, which I felt could have used a lot of TLC....

I stayed only for one night on the hostel. It has a great commom area, a fully equiped kitchen. And breakfast included. However, the room that i was, it was extremely small. It was for 4 persons. Shower and toilet were divided in two. The shower was really small, every time i turned i knock on something (specially the water...

More like a budget hotel than a hostel we really enjoyed our stay. The hostel was so clean, tidy, well maintained and well run I would highly recommend it. The staff were very professional and helpful and we booked nearly everything through them. We stayed in 4 bed dorm which was very nice and shower was amazing, very hard to...

Stayed here 5 nights September 2014, really enjoyed staying here. Room were ideal with great storage for back packs etc. Each dorm room has a ensuite shower and toilet. That was great so not using communal facilities. Reception staff were super helpful and assisted with Everything. Great lounge area where everyone was meeting and sharing ideas too. The hostel was...

I originally planned to stay here in early September for 5 days and ended up staying for 3 weeks. Having travelled around South America for 2 and a half months, this is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in! The hostel is super clean, beds are made and rooms cleaned on a daily basis, tasty breakfast with a...

A really nice hostel, facilities are great, staff are helpfull and nice, and a great basement to social nap or watch tv. The tours they offer are brilliant and its located central enough with the San Telmo sunday market just outside the door. Theres also a really good restaurant just down the street. Only downside is the top bunkbeds (feels...

Very friendly staff, intimate atmosphere, great location in San Telmo area; perfect introduction to hostels for a first time back-packer such as myself. Great value for money, supermarket just across the road, and decent continental breakfast served.

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
