Absolutely adored the hotel and friendly staff! Arrived on a Sunday afternoon and thought it was closed, but no, just the gate was locked. I read both the positive and negative reviews on TripAdvisor and I think they are probably all accurate - depending on your expectations and what room (and employees) you get on what day. I would say the place is more Bohemian than Boutique. It's very homey and comfy in a slightly worn way with rugs, pictures, books, old wood furniture,...

Great service, clean rooms and and excellent location! Breakfast is simple but well made, and goes until later hours (which is great if you are not a morning persons, as myself). Staff is kind and provide recommendations about the city. I would stay again!

We stayed four nights at Rugantino, we highly appreciated the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is relatively simple, but certainly serves as a base to explore the city. The neighborhood is perfect, good restaurants are within walking distance. The breakfast is great.

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
