The location is the best thing about this hotel. Very close to the metro. And in a safe lively location with many restaurants around. The downer is that the room was small and smelt mouldy. Seemed very old. We stayed in 608. Toilet had hit water and was clean. Staff was very helpful. The lift to the rooms is an...

Great location right in the centre of town. I stayed in a triple room which was spacious and clean. Breakfast was a decent selection of foods. However a lot of noise from the street and lift which makes noise throughout the night. Also wifi is very poor. Overall its okay, more of a hostel standard

Got placed into room 511 at first and it was like a small box and terribly noisy with the street noise below - had to ask to move rooms (something I've never done in all my hotel stays) but it was worth the effort - room 612 was much more spacious and a lot more quiet. The rooms unfortunately don't...

This is an older building, which shows its age in some places. The rooms are big with high ceilings and a small balcony. Its just a bed, bathroom and desk, but that's all I wanted. I did not expect to stay at a resort and I only paid $28 USD a night including a good breakfast. The staff was very...

Hotel Mundial is conveniantly located in the centre of Buenos Aires, close to many sights and easy to travel to other popular places. The place itself is nothing fancy, standard and clean rooms which do their purpose. Staff all spoke English and was helpful, WiFi worked good during our stay. Good price for the value.

Excellent stay at hotel Mundial. I was in a single room which was very big and had a bit of a balcony. The room was cleaned everyday, it had free wifi and quite a lot of space. The place is very functional and has a safe in the room. Unfortunately, no big Mirror in the room, it would be great...

Pros- One of the receptionists lent us her sube card as most of the cash machines were empty over the weekend. Very central. Cons- The rooms are huge with tall ceilings but with such cheap decor that it ruins the feel of the place. Photos online make this hotel look beautifully decorated and welcoming although the reality is completely different....

The hotel is in a *great* location for tourists: within a block of a Subte stop, easy walking distance to the Plaza de Mayo and very close to the plaza with the Congresso, and the Avenue itself is interesting to walk along. There are frequent political demonstrations along the Avenue, but they are peaceful (though loud) and should be viewed...

We stayed two nights and left cameras and cash in the safe which is located in the bedroom's closet and they disappeared. When we explained the situation to the staff at the reception desk she said it could not have been the cleaner as she had worked for the hotel for many years and advised us to go to the...

The hotel was cheap and totally worth the price. The lifts were old - fashioned and carpet everywhere. If you're allergic to it, it would be a problem but it gave the hotel an interesting look. The room was nice. Hot water and nice bed. Bedding and towels were replaced everyday. The cons were the TV showing only local news/programs...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
