I was there a long time ago in 2004 but I remember I had a great time the room was a regular dorm nothing special but the staff was wonderful and helpful and I met really cool people from around the world. they have a nice kitchen and great tango lessons there. The location is really nice right in the...

I stayed in Tango City in September 2009 (I checked June 2013 as it is the earliest available date option) when i arrived in Buenos Aires for the first time while I was looking for an apartment in the area. I later returned to the hostel when my lease on that apartment was up. I ended up living in the...

Its shut !!! I booked on hostel world but when I turned up at midnight it was closed for renovations. When I called they informed me that they had rebooked me at another hostel (which was a bit crappy). They said they send emails each night about rebookings but as I booked on the day itself they had not sent...

I stayed for one night in a ten bed dorm and fled the next day in very early morning (as I had no sleep). The dorm was crowded with five bunkbeds. The dorm's bathroom had no ventilation other then into the dorm itself. It was dark, humid, smelly, crowded experience. There was a big confusion in who is occupying which...

We booked in, and ended up leaving before actually spending the night. The staff were very friendly, and can't be faulted. However the hostel is very dark, with no natural light. The kitchen (which was clean, with plenty of utensils) is in the basement, which also doubles as the bar. Smoking is permitted (in the bar/kitchen area), which is unpleasant....

The zuc82's review pretty much summarizes what I wanted to say. However, I'd like to add that it was very hard for me to sleep. Even tough the bar is in the basement, noise was constant though it was probably because it was a Saturday (some things can't be tolerated). For example, the people in the room above mine started...

Stayed here for a week in early October 2010. Travelling alone, but had no problem meeting people there. In fact, had only been in the room for 30 minutes before I got invited to have beers with 2 Swedish guys and 2 Finnish girls. A really sociable place, and a good mix of people from different places. Has a bar...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
