The hostel was quiet and nice, very confortable, with friendly staff. A good place to relax for some days. The best about the hostel would be the staff, who all were very friendly and helpful. Well I really enjoyed my stay, thank you!

Che argentina hostel was a lovely place to stay for a couple of days in Buenos Aires- Very, very, very beautiful building, clean and quiet. Met some really good people straight away and could finally start enjoying our stay in South America. Thanks a lot,

I can highly recommend this place. I stayed more than 2 weeks and had a great time there. Staff is very friendly and helpful and managed to create a cozy and familiar atmosphere in a beautiful and historical building. Breakfast was good and bathrooms are very clean. Location is perfect. Many sights in walking distance and public transport is easy...

We moved from "art factory san telmo" to che argentina and stayed 5 nights in a 5 bed dorm(nice room+balcony). For Buenos Aires it's a very good low-price option (150 Pesos including breakfast= fresh medialuna, bread, juice, hot drink, butter&marmelade)! The bathrooms get cleaned daily, the shower is spacy and hot. We felt home here - most of all because of...

We stayed for 2 nights at the privet room, and the manager was nice and helpful, clean rooms, air conditioner, only problem is the noise from the street at night. But really nice place, at San telmo close to the Sunday market. The price is fair not cheep or too expensive. Recommended!

I only stayed here one night in a private double with own bathroom. It was late when i arrived and early when i left. Seemed to be clean and well serviced. Breakfast was basic but it was free! The hostel is within walking distance of the places you might like to visit. You can pay by credit card too, which...

I am a backpacker, 37yrs old, 40+ countries visited, travelling with partner. We spent 2 nights in 3 beds dormitory and 5 nights in 6 beds dormitory for 120 peso for a bed including breakfast. We chose this hostel after seeing a few others in San Telmo area as it was best budget value for money. ROOM: 3 beds dorm;...

We stayed in this hostel for four nights and it is one of the best places we stayed in all of South America. Our room was very spacious, the breakfast was great and the staff, Pablo in particular, was great. He was incredibly helpful, didn't laugh at my horrendous Spanish, and gave us lots of tips about the city -...

We arrived in Buenos Aires to find our hostel had closed. A friendly hotel owner across the street directed us to some hostels in the area. We checked a few out, found them dingy and dank, and continued to Che Argentina. Immediately, from the polished white entry staircase to the bright clean lobby, I liked this hostel. We had 6...

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
