This hotel looks like it has not been renovated since the 70's, and you can see the wear everywhere: furniture, doors, windows and common areas. The bathtub was full of mold and the bathroom in general had stains and watermarks all around. It really looked like an abandoned house. The room was the most saddest and depressing one I have...

The Hotel is very central, right on Avenida 9 de Julio/Carlos Pellegrini Rd. The room can be noisy if facing the street and the window is open, but soundproofing is very good when the window is closed. As we do not speak Spanish I found reception at times less than helpful and would not recommend this hotel for English speaking...

I arrived at the Gran Hotel Argentino at 9 in the morning and was immediately given a suite with two bathrooms(!) and excellent views of the avenue! I found this absolutely amazing especially as I had pre-paid a room the week before less than 40 dollars a night without breakfast. The hotel is stylish and the staff are super helpful...

This hotel is very good value for its location in this expensive city. Big rooms, good bed and bathroom - close to buses, taxis, Subte (underground system),restaurants, shopping and most everything you could want in the city. The staff were a bit surly when we arrived - maybe they had had a hard day. But they did get better and...

The hotel is too old and the receptionists are not kindly and polite. If you look for a good location to stay that´s a perfect place, but it´s only a place to sleep, nothing else. The price is good too, but that´s all.

Its an old hotel. The reception can look kinda scary, but the rooms are very good, large and rebuilded. And the beds are very good also :) The breakfast is nice for the price u pay. Good location, near Florida Street and the Obelisco.

I stayed there for around a week. so i could travel around Buenos Aires and the towns near by. I then left to Iguzu and left my stuff at the hotel. every thing...

If you need Internet connection, this is not your hotel. I work and travel and so does my boyfriend. I don´t mind to pay but the funny thing is that, when you hire wifi for your room, it is not for the room It´s per person and per device!!! So If you want to connect your phone, you have to...

Staying in San Nicolas

Neighbourhood Profile
San Nicolas
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub and migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theatre lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.
