Considering the high price level of the hotels in Buenos Aires, this one is still affordable and in a good location. Belongs to the old style hotel who went down a renovation and the room is pleasant. Breakfast is quite boring and not very cosy but more for airline crews and business people.

We stayed here because the cruise provider chose it. I wouldn't have selected this location otherwise. If you want some place within walking distance to the central points of interest this is not the best place to stay. The facility is very nice and the rooms are large, modern, clean and comfortable. There are only single or double rooms so...

The hotel is very nice and in a good location, however the restaurant on site and the breakfast are disappointing. The staff are all exceptionally friendly and most speak multiple languages so you should have no trouble getting around or getting directions to the sights of Buenos Aires.

Wonderful experience. Very friendly & courteous staff. They were all very helpful in calling for taxis for us to go around town, giving the right directions to various places for us to walk around the town, they even called and made reservations for restaurants for dinner. Always smiling, ready to respond to your queries. Rooms are very nice, comfortable. Very...

I have stayed 2 weeks in this hotel. The hotel is quite old however you can still fill the former glory. The rooms are big and nice. The location is great with nice restaurants nearby. The conference rooms on the upper floor are nice with a great view of the city Staff was very helpful with a good level of...

My room was large and impressive with a corner window. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was large with both a bath and separate very large shower, complimentary shampoo etc was good quality. Spotlessly clean. Shame that there was no complimentary bottled water - only bottle in room charged £5. No kettle but there was a filter coffee machine but there...

Thank you to Hotel Emperador for great pre- and post-Antarctic expedition stays in December 2016. The rooms are spotless, the food excellent, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. A perfect cure for jet lag!

The Emperador Hotel in Buenos Aires was the launch pad for my wife and I on our Antarctic adventure to the south. But it could easily have fitted the role of an elegant hotel in a vibrant and interesting city. What I liked most about the Emperador was its style, without being too "frumpy". The reception area is expansive, with...

Stayed 5 nights on a business trip in nove, ber. Payed about 170$ USD per night including wifi and breakfast. Hotel is decorated in a "classic" old timey style and seems to attract lots of groups of tourists, as well as KLM staff... Not much neighborhood life around, but if you walk a few minutes you can find everything you need....

Very helpful and excellent service by staff. Hotel is next to Avenida 9 at the very end. Have a supermarket two block away and shopping centre call Patio Bullrich with a food court 200 metres towards the shell petrol station. If you do not want to walk so far there are about 10 cafes and restaurants behind the petrol station....

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
