Very tired, dark and drab hotel. Rooms very dreary and breakfast served in the basement with no natural light. Rooms also very noisy as you can hear neighbouring rooms use the shower or flush the toilet. No English news channels on the TVs.

Juan monjelos and Cesar at reception desk are NOT an asset to the hotel. They are both rude and helpless. Simple requests: Like helping to get the suitcases to guests' rooms are too difficult to arrange. I made sure the bags were at the hotel 01 hour before the 07 elderly guests of my group, and all I got was... More

I was put here by Aerolineas Argentinas after a flight cancellation. The location is great to move around Buenos Aires by feet but the hotel is absolutely decandent and has not been refreshed in decades. The rooms are old and very noisy. The breakfast buffet is much limited and is mostly made of cakes and sugar rich stuff. The staff... More

I stay about 2-year in this hotel since 13 years, when I am visiting my relatives in Argentina. They have the same employees, thats mean that their owners are good employers. They remember me each time also comment how my children are growing up. They are like a big family. The location is perfect and I love the very complete... More

You can tell from the decor and style of the hotel that it was probably a good, upscale hotel in it's day. Judging by the dark wood interiors, carpet and brass accents I would guess that was in the late 60's or early 70's. Walking in feels like you've stepped back through time. The rooms are tired, the carpet smells... More

Because of flight delays, we missed our connection to El Calafate and Aerolineas Argentinas provided accomodations at the Hotel Presidente. It was probably a grand hotel in it's day, but those days have gone. The window in our room leaked (it was raining), water pressure was weak and room was generally old (the TV was an old CRT model). We... More

Well to start of the rooms are very simple, but quite charming in a way. The problems I had with this hotel is that the breakfast is literally just a big buffet of sweets, pastries and coffee. In every other hotel I stayed in, there was much more selection, such as meat, sausages, eggs and what have you. Another problem... More

Much has already been said about Buenos Aires as a tourist destination, the rivalry between Brazil and Argentina and the supposed arrogance of the people that live in Buenos Aires. I never visited Buenos Aires before and being born in Brazil, I was expecting to be received poorly... But some things you have to see for yourself. Buenos Aires seemed... More

Our LAN flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia was canceled on 11th March, 2015 and they provided this accommodation. As it was a free room given by LAN, we were given a very lousy, rundown, basic room with no views at all! The bathroom was pathetic as one cannot enter and close at the same time! We were provided meal... More

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
