would be mad if i booked this thinking it was a hotel as many couples who were staying there were. nice hostel, shared dorm is good but private rooms are tiny. we had to re-arrange the room to fit our bags in. private room dusty. decent breakfast(hostel standard), 2 showers but only1 works at a time and in mornings we...

My wife and I spent several weeks off and on at Che Lulu during June, 2011 and found the experience to be among the highlights of our Argentine Experience. The facility itself was somewhat quaint and cozy and we truly enjoyed the Old Soho neighborhood which lends itself to exploratory strolls among it's many restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops while...

We really enjoyed our stay in the Che lulu guesthouse. As we arrived we got an upgrade from a lulu room to the village, which means that we had our own house with a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom and a balcony. We really liked it's interior. Just one negative aspect: the bed was not very comfortable at all....

The hostel is nicely decorated but it is a hostel trying to be a hotel. It is overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately, we were given the smallest room in the hotel which was next door to the toilet. You could hear everything, and I mean EVERYTHING that went on in the toilet. The showers were also of poor condition...

After a long flight from the states, we landed here, based on the review in Moon Handbooks. I'm pretty sure the author of Moon didn't come to BA. Of course, the owner didn't have our reservation. And spent a good 45 minutes looking for the piece of paper, while we stood there and waited. She tried to give us a...

Partly hostel partly hotel in the very fashionable neighbourhood of Palermo. It is located between Palermo viejo (plaza serrano) y Palermo hollywood, where all the trendy bars, restaurants and nighclubs are. Hotels have understand that and usually prices for a hotel room are very expensive there. Che lulu is a good opportunity to have a room for not too expensive....

I stayed at Che LuLu in January 2011 for nearly a month. I was in Buenos Aires to learn Spanish primarily but also because I fell in love with the city after I visited for the first time in 2008. Usually when I travel I prefer to stay in boutique hotels, avoiding chains and hostels where possible, which is how...

Everything in the hotel felt old and dusty. The staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast was decent. The bathroom is disgusting and shared. I also found I could not turn on the water because I am quite short and the handle to turn it on was way to high. My husband and I left the window open at night because...

The best thing I can say about Che Lulu is that the staff are really good (very friendly, helpful and happy to help) and that it has a good location. The rooms are tiny with very little storage but the most disappointing aspect is the bathrooms (the private and the shared ones). The showers and the sink have industrial type...

We booked a few beds in the dorm for the first three nights in BsAs, the prime reason being the price ($10/night). The experience was so good, however - super friendly & helpful staff (including the owner), clean & "trendy" - a lot of attention to detail as far as furniture & decoration goes - that when I decided on...

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
