We stayed in a superior room and were very happy. The room had character and was quite large. The view wasnt much (i.e. just across to more rooms) but the room was light and airy. The staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was very good, good quality produce. The hotel is in a good location for the central 'sights' only 10 minutes walk to the central plaza but a good 30 minutes walk to the evening market.Internet was quick and free.

I booked this hotel based on another Trip Advisor review. If you're looking for a good, basic place to stay while exploring Cordoba and its surroundings, this is a fine place. It's nothing fancy; the rooms my friends and I stayed in looked like they needed a coat of paint, but were otherwise clean. My single had a bed, dresser, and little table, plus a TV with cable. The bathroom was different, as there was no "formal" shower. The floor is tiled and sloped towards a drain in the middle- this acts as the shower floor, as there is a nozzle up on the wall. Only problem is that the toilet and sink get wet in the process, since there's no curtain or divider. Just watch your step! Free breakfast in the morning was pastries and coffee. There's a restaurant in the lobby area, but unfortunately, most nights we were there, it was either closed or there were only a few dishes available (and not necessarily the ones listed on the menu outside). While you are on a closed pedestrian shopping street, everything closes by 8pm and you'll probably have to walk 4 or 5 blocks towards the center in search of a meal at night. Beware too that they don't accept credit cards! When I booked on their site, there was no mention of this, and I had planned on paying by cc; instead, I had to save cash everyday in order to have enough to pay the bill (thankfully I noticed this early on, as I could only withdraw 300 pesos a day). Strangely, they nicely insisted that I pay halfway thru, instead of at the end of my stay, which seemed a bit unorthodox. All in all, the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the Plaza San Martin, Manzana Jesuitica, and Mercado Sur bus station (where you can catch buses to the mission towns, etc) are all within a 15 walk.

Cordoba is a great old city in Argentina, and the Gran Victoria is a hotel to match. Is a very old hotel that was recently renovated, with very goos breakfast and incredibly central to everything you may want to see in the city. If you want the pool and modern amanitas, skip this one. If you want old fashion charm, go right in.

Initially, I booked this hotel for the price, thinking I would use it as a base to find where I wanted to stay. Once here, I did not look a bit further. The hotel has a wonderful history. I can't think of a better location. And it becomes more beautiful everyday. All of the best sites are within short walking distances. The balconies overlook a paved walkway lined with trees and benches. I am a single woman and feel quite secure. The hotel, itself, is a splendid beauty. It has the feel of authenticity, serenity and luxurious surroundings. The cleanliness is outstanding. The staff are friendly, helpful and prompt, as well as the owner whose presence is enjoyed. They wish to please and their goal is for their guests to be contented with their stay here. I have found them extremely accomodating.
Not only that, the hotel contains patios and common areas where I have met many interesting travelers.
Gracious room service coffee every morning begins my day. I am greeted by name.
You can't find this in a chain hotel.
I have extended my stay for another three months.
I like it too much to leave!
I hope to meet you here!

my second stay this year in this little hotel. it's well appointed with very chic public areas. on a pedestrian mall just a smidgen outside of the plaza san martin area....everything in "el centro" is an easy walk. the staff are friendly and attentive. breakfast is ample and well presented. i don't think anyone would be disappointed with this hotel.

The business oriented hotel is located in the city center on a pedestrian street with plenty of shops and cafes nearby. Most of the restaurants we visited were 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel occupies an old building with new annexes so do not expect that all the rooms and created equal. We had a nice room on the top floor, quite big, a bit oddly shaped with a good sized bathroom and a window to the atrium. There was a good free wifi connection in the room, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. A fridge could have been handy.

A typical breakfast with medialunas and coffee is served in the breakfast room by the lobby. The staff was very helpful. There are offers available on the hotel's website, do check those.

Rooms are small and odd shaped. No proper shower. No parking space nor breakfast room in the building. The bed cover is unclean. Shame because the building looks lovely from outside

I stayed here for one night in January. The place is pretty decent, the old building is quite charming and the lobby has been newly redone.

Like many hotels is Argentina, it seems that a lot of effort has gone into making the lobby look very appealing (it feels like walking into a four star), while the upper stories containing the rooms have not been as recently renovated. Still, the room was pretty decent. The big downside that I found to this place was the washroom. With just a shower curtain and no partition along the floor, the entire washroom tends to get wet when you shower.

The hotel could benefit from one or two more computers in the business centre.

Staff were friendly, and there was always one around who spoke English. Breakfast at the Bonafide next door (it is complimentary with the room) is quite good. The Bonafide makes a very good medialuna.

I recently visit argentina, its a beautiful country, people are friendly except in Buenos Aires.
But the best stage of my travel was Córdoba, the sights are amazing. And if you are planing travel to Cordoba you probably need to stay in the victoria hotel.
I write this words cause I felt very comfortable over there (it was cheap), the staff was very friendly and the help me to find great places to visit.
I rent a single room per U$S 35 a day. It was Ok and the sight was wonderful. The building is traditional, like an spanish old hotel, the porter told that Carlos Gardel, the famous tangos singer, used to stay there when he visited the town.
Also please visit the churchs (specially "compania de jesus", is the oldest church in cordoba) and the university.
If you want to eat "asado" you can find a lot of restaurants, I love this typical argentian meal.
So friends, have a good trip.
Best wishes,

Ema.

We paid around 23 pounds a night for this hotel booking via a well known hostel site.

We checked in at 1am so 24 hour reception handy.

The last review is about right, the review before that seems to be describing another hotel but as it was three years ago and in the Summer I`ll give them the benefit of the doubt!! "It has the feel of authenticity, serenity and luxurious surroundings" - yes, you´ll be from Cordoba then...

Location great for shopping, not too far from bus station but perhaps a little limited for better quality food options (although there were lots of pizza/pasta places and internet around the corner).

Rooms pretty depressing but this seems to be the norm in Argentinian budget acommodation.

The staff were very friendly (they can`t speak much English though if your Spanish is rusty!) and the room was clean. The breakfast was adaquate (croissants and danish pastry with coffee) if not a little limited.

The courtyard of the hotel was interesting and there was some nice artwork on the walls but this was the best quality area of the hotel and not one you would spend time in. The website is great, I would love to visit that hotel one day...

Bathroom small and drab although shower was fine.

We particularly enjoyed the balcony where you can often enjoy the sounds of the mad blind singing lady in the street (anyone else seen her?).

Jokes aside, one for backpackers, needs some work but ok for price. Reflects the city as a whole.
