Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel was truly an orchid jewel....The rooms were spacious, the location was quite near the falls, I cannot recommend it enough. Rooms were clean and neat, food was good....staff very friendly....would stay again in a heart beat.

The hotel is beautiful, relaxing and wonderful. Our room was spacious and clean and the food was good. It felt like a spa getaway. We had breakfast and sat and just enjoyed friends company over many cups of perfect coffee.
I would come again just to relax if I could

Here are our thoughts.
Positives: Front desk and restaurant staff very helpful; lovely pool area; price was right.
Not-so-positives: Rooms pretty rustic; food very mediocre; and quite far from town so no alternatives for dining.

We stayed in this hotel around 1 year ago now. What a terrible experience we have had. I would advised anyone to go out for lunch/ dinner as food in the hotel is horrible.
On our last night we came about around 10pm and we needed to pack our bags and get ready to travel back to Buenos Aires next day. When we arrived in our room we had a issue with the key. We walked back to reception and we have been given new key. Same issue again. After 4 journeys back to reception they finally came with us. We we informed that the battery has run out and the only (!) person who has the actual key to the room in not there. He was trying to call them , no answer. After 20 min wait we were given key to next door so we had somewhere to sit down. We could't do anything else as all of our items were still next door. After midnight we have finally managed to access our room. Next morning during check out when asked how was our stay we have mentioned our troubles from the night before. No apology, no sympathy. Receptionist simply answered " You had a room, didn't you? So what's the problem?". I was amazed with luck of customer service skills and luck of sympathy for the inconvenience caused.
If you have a choice book somewhere else!

The hotel is a lovely large building and several smaller cabins behind it. The staff was very helpful, especially Laura in reception who helped me get my boarding pass online. The restaurant had good food and breakfast was buffet with many good choices. It is close to the park. Very enjoyable stay.

This hotel is fine. We travelled as a family and had four rooms. They were all different. One was large, one was a bit dirty, one was upstairs with no elevator. One had difficulty closing the windows to keep the bugs out. But, overall it was a fine stay. The breakfast had a nice variety. The lunch food at the restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Everything was great! The grounds are pretty and the pool was fine. It is a short taxi ride to town and an easy trip to the Falls. It worked out fine for our two night stay to visit the Falls.

I had a very hard time finding a hotel in Puerto Iguazu despite power-surfing the web. It appeared as if I was destined to sleep in a hostel (I'm too old) or pay about $150 per night (I'm too cheap). Don't despair fellow travellers--this hotel is the solution. The hotel is not in the center of town, but rather on the road to the National Park. The cab into town was about $3 and the bus to the National Park stopped right outside the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious with shuttered windows, TV, en-suite, A/C, etc. The grounds and pool area were absolutely lovely and reminded me of an expensive resort. The hotel is surrounded by a green zone that displays many local plants and flowers. There is an outside patio for lunch or drinks with butterflies and hummingbirds. There's also a game room with ping pong and pool table. An added extra--there's a spa adjacent to the hotel that offers inexpensive massages (less than $20US). The breakfast buffet offered the usual--eggs, meat and cheese, cereals, breads, etc. Honestly, to get all of this for less than $45US per night was astonishing. Better yet, on check out they offered me a 15% discount if I paid cash. The restaurant service was a bit slow and unenthusiastic, but at this price I didn't care.

The Orquideas Palace is a lovely and restful place, although a little worn around the edges. It definitely shows its age, with outdated fixtures and furnishings, but it is well kept and very clean and I got two very good night's sleep there. (Excellent bed!) It looks a lot like most of the other hotels in a region with very little luxury, and if you want fancy on the Argentinian side of the falls, you will have to go to the Sheraton in the park. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, especially to English-speaking guests who try to use a little Spanish -- that goes a long way with them.
The setting is parklike, with pretty grounds and nice pool, although it was closed for repairs when I was there. It's also right next to a spa, which has a lovely pool and very good prices for spa services. There is internet access in the lobby for 2.5 pesos for 30 minutes.
The breakfast is standard fare for Argentinian hotels, with a buffet sampling of coffee, breads, yogurt, juices and fruit. But it had the nice surprise of scrambled eggs, which were very welcome after two weeks of sugary medialunas.
The dinner is a fairly mediocre buffet, with salads and a few hot dishes. At 25 pesos, you can get better meals at one of the restaurants in the center of the city. Unless you're exhausted and don't feel like venturing out, you will probably have a better meal in Puerto Iguazu, and have the experience of seeing the sleepy town come to life for the night -- it gets lively! However, dinner comes with many of the air/hotel/transfer packages, so it may not be worth it to most visitors.
The hotel is between the National Park and Puerto Iguazu, and right along the bus line that runs between the downtown terminal and the park. It's about 7 pesos to catch a taxi to town, much more for a taxi to the National Park. Riding the bus is an excellent bargain at 70 centavos -- just make sure you catch the "cataratas" one the runs from the park to downtown.
Overall, the Orquideas Palace is a good value for visiting Iguazu Falls.

At this hotel you can choose between the cheapes rooms, which mean you will get the one of the old cottages, or paid more a get one of the spacious and new cottages which have excellent bed, air condition and bad room.

What is good with this hotel is that is sorrounded by a several trees that normally are plenty of birds. This gives you the sensation og being in middle of the jungle.

The staff was very friendly and helpfull.

The hotel has a restaurant. We only had breakfast there, which was okay. Across the street is an Ice Bar and right next to it there is a pizza place. They're friendly and the food is good. There is also a steak house across the street at a different hotel but I heard that it wasn't very good. We were there at the beginning of this month.
