We stayed here for three nights in a very nice Morena Wing suite with a private deck and simply stunning views. We played golf at Llao Llao and thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular course. Staff at the Pro Shop and the golf clubhouse were friendly and efficient. The hotel's shuttle to the course worked perfectly. The breakfast buffet in the main hotel every morning was extensive, offering plenty of choice. Unfortunately, the good news ends there. The hotel is woefully understaffed. There is a single bar in the main hotel lobby area, staffed by a single barman. Service, accordingly, is agonisingly slow. At the height of the high summer season, when we visited, we were told there was no service at all on the expansive hotel terrace (though one kindly waiter did bring us our drinks there). Every time we signed for food or drinks, in any part of the hotel, we were informed by waiters that the check did not include tips, with the obvious expectation on their part that such prodding would bear fruit. Various "reception desks" in the Moreno Wing and along the connecting corridors to it were unmanned whenever we passed by. The Moreno Lounge, advertised on the hotel's internal TV channel as open until 11pm, in fact shut down at 7pm every night. Service at the Concierge and Reception desks was mixed, but perfunctory at best and haughty at worst, as though guests should consider it a privilege to be acknowledged and attended by staff. Poor service levels extended to the bellhop staff: we asked for our luggage to be delivered to our room on arrival and when we got there, it was to find our suitcases simply left outside the door. We ate dinner once at the hotel's main grill and buffet, which was okay but not worth repeating. At the a la carte Patagonia restaurant, our mains took more than an hour to deliver after we'd had our starters, and were so poor that we left them after just a few bites. All in all, a real disapppintment. Location is important in the hospitality industry, but it isn't everything. We stayed at a variety of hotels in Argentina during our holiday and ate at a variety of restaurants. We would recommend them all, but sadly cannot say the same about this very overpriced but ultimately very underwhelming resort.

Don’t miss this unique spot This was an amazing resort. Well appointed rooms with stunning views. Dinner was excellent and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. We also took tango lessons as a group and found it to be entertaining and super instructive. There are lots of hiking trails nearby as well to explore.

When we arrived Bariloche I was a bit nervous as our fabulous guide told us they had just had the hottest day for 60 years and were experiencing a heatwave. We had not booked a room with air con in the new wing as quite a bit more expensive. For us check in was smooth and bags taken up to the room. The hotel is only what I can describe as a mix between Gleneagles (Scotland) thirty years ago, the lodge in Dirty Dancing and an Alpine Hotel. Our room was a bit dated and the bathroom needed repairs. It was 29 degrees outside and our bathroom radiator was stuck on full! Fortunately there was a maintenance man in the corridor, he couldn't fix it but he knew a man who could so all sorted very quickly. However all was forgiven when we had the most wonderful view of the lake. Absolutely no mosquitos so the window can be left open. We had been warned about horseflies but we didn’t see any. I saw someone delivering a fan to a room and asked for one at the concierge desk which was provided and did the trick at night, the temperature does drop. These weren't advertised so guests do need to ask. They also have the menus ( unless the restaurant is open) on QR codes dotted around the hotel which is a pain if you don't want to walk around with your phone , again ask at the concierge desk as they have printed copies. Would be nice to have a fan and menus already in the room. The service is slow in the bar, there was the most dull repetitive longe music each evening ( they do need to address this). Cleaning staff always said good morning and smiled if passing in the corridor and rooms were very clean. Having said all this I don't know if to was the mountain air but we loved it despite all its small problems. I really would suggest if budget allows book a room in the new wing as it has air con and the rooms have balconies with fabulous views. The marina area is great, we did swim in the lake it is chilly! and they have a good system of taking out kayaks etc. Do go on a day trip with a guide you will learn so much, we had a lovely lunch at a family owned micro brewery. Breakfasts in the hotel are incredible. We went for walks in the mornings then had late breakfast, lovely omelettes cooked in front of you. A very well organised system. We had a couple of meals in the evening at the hotel. which were good. Always share a steak the portions are huge. We also had a dinner at Queven down the road which is modern Argentinian cooking. The hotel was full as it was Argentine holiday which gave it a lovely happy atmosphere. We spoke to a couple of people who come every year with their families, A couple of mistakes on our bill with tips added we didn't sign for. We queried this and asked to see the dockets as this isn’t how we tip. The extra amounts were taken off as it was clear they were not signed for. A bit naughty. Would recommend asking for the final bill in good time taking away and going through slowly not waiting to the last minute as we noticed that at 12pm check out time ( which is very generous) there were queues of guests wanting to settle up. May seem a bit petty after spending a lot on a holiday to query this but no one likes being taken advantage of. Having said that we wouldn't stay anywhere else if we went to Bariloche again, its is a special hotel and does have a lovely feel but could be so much more with a bit of updating here and there. Will absolutely go back.

This place has so much potential. It is a nice hotel, but it falls short of Luxury as it claims. The setting is beautiful tucked away in Bariloche. I think at sometime the hotel was luxurious but it's lost it's grandeur. It can get there, but it's all about details. The newer rooms take a step towards that, the lakeview rooms were nice. Check in process is painful. The front desk people are friendly and do smile. I think they are working with outdated systems. We tried early check in. I can understand that may not be available, however they told us they would call us when the room was available. They did not. I had to check an hour after check in time to see and the room had been available. This isn't the front staff's issue, they have nothing to notify them. The Concierge are helpful, however they should take a note from the Lufthansa activity desk in the hotel and try to smile. I'm not sure I saw a single smile from anyone at the Concierge the entire time we were there (3 days). Small detail but it makes a difference. The bar - It's way too small and for a large resort you can't just have one bartender. The drinks take forever. They are losing out on revenue by not being able to turn over drinks quickly. My wife's beer took 30 minutes. The bartenders are however very friendly but just too many drinks for one person to make and too small of a bar to make them in. They should consider building a larger bar and they would increase service and revenue very quickly. The Spa - The spa is very minimal for what should be much larger and more services at a luxury hotel. The masseuses are good, but that's basically all you get there. They should have a spa circuit and what not. Then the locker rooms were confounding. The sauna was a good size but stopped working while I was in it. In the showers they did not check if ammenties were empty. Out of 6 showers there was no body soap each container was empty. It would take a long time for all 6 showers to be emptied, they should be checking these multiple times a day. Then when you try to take a shower the space between the door and the curtain is minimal. When you open the shower door it pushes the curtain out of the way so you have no privacy. By the way getting out of the shower it means the the curtain has to open up and the towel is hung on the other side of the door. So you have to step out in your bare ass, then close the door with the curtain open to just read the damn towel. Again poor attention to details. The restaurant - The staff is very kind and helpful and the view is gorgeous from the Patagonia restaurant. The food however is just ok. If you choose to stay a the resort there are several options within 10 minutes, I would recommend going to one of those like Quiven (which is AMAZING). Music daily - They need to get some more lively music. The current piano is essentially elevator music. Get something more captivating for your guests. Some more exciting Argentinian music. Checkout - It's too long of a process. Just charge the guests and leave the receipt under their door. If they want to contest they will come to you but the majority will be fine and leave on their own and just let you know they are leaving and done. Sitting for 20 minutes to go over things and sign out is annoying. If I felt these concerns would things you would see anywhere in Argentina it would be one thing but it isn't. We also stayed at other resorts during our trip that had their details very well worked out which created a stronger experience. Here are some good things. The activities are nice and mostly included. Archery, kayaks, wetsuits, etc are great. And the location is great. Again this place has so much potential but the management needs to make some changes and update a lot of things.

We stayed in the spectacular main lodge with panoramic mountain and lake views. The room was very nice and big enough, but the WiFi generally did not work in the room. Nice public areas, including several restaurants, a reading room, a bridge room, a golf course, a marina and beach, a pool, a spa... Allow plenty of time to get in and out of town. Taxis can take a while and the hotel is a bit remote. There is a convenient but crowded public bus every 20 minutes. Food in the restaurants was good but not excellent. Stick to the beef and salads and you will do well. Service was uniformly excellent but not obtrusive.

We LoVED our time at Llao Llao. We went with my in-laws for their birthdays and we enjoyed sitting by the fire in the lodge, walking around the property, taking in the views, enjoying the spa (great massages and heated pool!), and taking an archery class. The food we ate was great. My mother in law adored the sushi and the Patagonia restaurant and breakfast were amazing. The hotel sent champagne to my mother in law and came for her birthday and she was so tickled! Highly recomend .

The place is a realm of peace. Staff is quite kind. Our room, with lake`s view was recently renovated and the bathroom was modern and the shower was strong. Breakfast had many choices and the dining room where it is served invites you to spend a lot of time. Fruit, bread, chesse are tasteful . Fitness center is great and you can walk while looking at the lake. Great relax! I would like to have a special mention for the young people in charge of the walks. You can join them just letting people in Fitness center know in advance. The young man who accompanied us on the morning walk not only had good will on a grey morning but also informed us about a coin of details of the history of the building and the region. Thank you very much.It was not only jogging but walking with someone who loves what he is doing. The same we can say of the young girl doing the walk during the afternoon. Her advise about having tea in the Golf teahouse was an exquisite piece of advice. The place invites you to slow down and stay there. One con: I find the price of food at the hotel exorbitatntly expensive. I always think that when you go to these hotels already expensive, there's no justification for the food being so but so expensive. They are far from the city and though many people could say that is the reason for the price, I find it unfair. But it is just an opinion and the place worths the visit.
