I wish I could offer Nibeko Aike 6 stars. I'm a professor on sabbatical. In my 6 weeks of extensive travel in South America, my time at Nibeko Aike stands out as the singular highlight. I visited in February after completing the W Trek at Torres del Paine and doing additional hiking in Argentinian Patagonia. The setting is off-the-charts beautiful...

If this was in North America or Europe it would be $100/night. At close to 300 once tax is included it really provides poor value. Set menu of soup followed by lentils was a joke on a working farm with sheep and cows in the background. Proper restaurant only seems to be used for the many tour groups who wisely...

A tourist trap for some but we found this to be a well run operation explaining the running of an estancia. Sure there are only 200 sheep and 500 head of cattle, somewhat fewer than an Australian Cattle or sheep station but giving a taste of the life. The estancia being located within the National Park de Los Glaciers means...

I wouldn't bother with this visit. This is not a working estancia but a tourist trap. Everything is staged for the tourist. A few sheep and cattle and the slowest sheep shearer in the world. The location is fantastic and the only thing that made this worthwhile was the trip there.

A great day spent on this farm. Worth the long drive out to it. Incredible Patagonian lamb BBQ served with lovely red wine and salad. Horse riding in some of the most picturesque surroundings at the end of a valley with Chile on one side of the range and Argentina on the other. A great experience of you have an...

You take a dirt road to get there so be ready for that, it's a fun drive. I arrived at 2pm and was told no power or wifi until 6pm. Kinda of a bummer. There were approximately 12 people staying at the estancia. For some odd reason I was told I was having dinner at another restaurant on the property...

This is a working ranch that also provides an experience to tourists. Their van picks folks up in Calafate for the long bumpy drive. The ranch is private property surrounded by the national park. Horse rides are available for an extra charge, we enjoyed this ride and the views it afforded. The same gaucho that led the ride also sheared...

We were part of a small group of day trippers coming from El Calafate looking to see a working ranch in Argentina. This destination accomplished that with a veneer of gentleness for the tourist. The ride out was the Duane Eddy instrumental from the 1960s...Forty Miles of Bad Road. We observed some sheep work (herding and shearing) and took a...

We did have a good time on our stay in Nibepo Aike, the stroll around the property and the explanations from the local guide where nice, but nothing really outstanding, except perhaps the manual sheep shearing demonstration, which I'd say was the highlight. The lunch menu was typical Patagonian lamb, decent enough too, but not really outstanding -- maybe we're...

The estancia is a very well kept farm. The rooms are nice and clean. Staff is nice. Food was good. It's very remote at the bottom of a mountain with a lot of nature around. Our daughters were allowed to help with sheep and horses and had a blast.
