You know those small hotels where you'd go back just to stay there, because the owners were so welcoming? Not every trip has one, but this trip did, and it was Hospedaje Lautaro. The owners were wonderful. A friend and I stayed in a private bunk bed room with a shared bathroom. It was pretty quiet in the private room... More

Stayed here 1 1/2 year ago. For all the hostels we stayed at in Argentina this has made the best impression. Really helpful personal when arranging trip and thinking of thing to do. Family owned and run. Really good atmosphere where you felt welcome.

El Calafate is located in the middle of nowhere in Patagonia. At least this is the feeling you get, looking at a map. And still, this place will feel a little like home, not least thanks to the welcoming family running this B&B. It is one of the most popular places with tourists from all over the world, so you'd... Belen and Dario ensured we had a great stay with their amazing hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and when we wanted to extend our stay Belen made a huge effort to try and secure us a room elsewhere , as they of course were fully booked. She even marvelled with us at the hefty prices quoted! This really was... More

We were here for some nights, and felt very welcomed. It's a family owned place and they helped with all the information we needed. Free coffee and tea 24/7. Breakfast was very good including homemade jam. Even a tomato jam that was very tasty. Facilities for cooking, or you can preorder dinner. Great Patagonian beers. Free internet, worked best in... Loved our stay at Hospedaje Lautaro. Very friendly place with quality accommodation. Breakfast was superb with home baked treats and the owners were very lovely people. 100% recommend staying here when in El Calafate.

very nice run hostel, located at 10 minute or less walk from bus terminal. Excellent staff / owners, they are very helpful, friendly and very nice. They made you feel at home. I stayed in a dormitory and space was big enough and clean. Good well-equipped kitchen, very clean too. Breakfast was one of the best I have had in... More

We stayed here for one night before catching an early bus to Torres del Paine. I was quite sick and found Hospedaje Lautaro a soft place to land and recover before continuing our trek throughout southern Patagonia. We had a small private room with ensuite bathroom (which was a pleasant surprise, as we had booked a room with a shared... More

Very welcoming owners and very nice breakfast, good selection of breads and sweets, and oats (love oats). Also the hostel is very conveniently located towards the main street. Rooms and particularly bathrooms were not in great shape, but they were clean.

And I am not talking about the temperature in the rooms (which, by the way, were also pleasantly warm to make you feel cosy after a day of hiking in the wind), but the wonderfully warm and caring owners, Belen and Dario. While it may not be that hard to find a place where the owners are helpful and professional,... More

“Don't miss the bird reserve about 1km away -- best to go right before dark, as the light changing at sunset it incredible. And unless you're a hard core backpacker (<30 y.o.), I recommend springing for the room with a private bathroom. It's just that much more comfortable. WiFi and breakfast are both excellent (they make their own bread!)”

“Small private rooms perfect for two, I think dorms are limited to four. Two person rooms have bunk beds and two twins as well as queens. If sleeping separate ask for twin beds if avail.”
