Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at Los Cormonares hostel for 5 days, and it was the best choice we've made. First, the view was fantastic. But most important, the crew was always sooo nice and friendly with us, very warm people, who helped us with everything we needed. One morning I felt really bad and dehydrated, and Gustavo walked with me all the way to the nearest clinic, talked with the nurse for me, and got me everything I've needed. Even when we was late for breakfast Ursula and Gustavo gave us everything! The only downside for this hostel was the way back from downtown, but it really not that bad.

not one of the best hostels around. rooms were kind of dinghy and walls were stained. staff weren't the friendliest people on the block. kitchen had good atmosphere and was clean. my stay there was nice because i met really friendly travellers in the hostel which made my 3 nights stay there good. changed hostels after i found available ones.

I loved this hostel. It is a little walk up the hill from the Main Street but it provides you with a wonderful view! They make a lovely breakfast- bread and spreads, eggs, provide cereal and milk- much more than most of the hostels I've stayed in! They were so helpful providing me with information for tours and hikes and shuttles/taxis to and from things. The rooms were warm and cleaned daily. A full kitchen was accessible 24/7. I would definitely recommend and definitely stay here again.

I stayed here at the end of a group trip. As others have mentioned the place was a disaster. The bunk beds in the room I was supposed to stay in collapsed leaving one person with a head injury and other with a chipped tooth and badly bruised knee. Luckily the injuries were not serious but it could have been a lot worse. Water was intermittent and in general the whole place was run down. The final straw was one of our group having a not insignificant amount of money stolen from their room. Lockers were provided but without locks. Not somewhere I could recommend staying.

Stayed 2 nights at the end of 4 weeks in Chile / Argentina, all in hostels, and this was the worst fro two reasons. We upgraded to a private double while our friends stayed in group dorms. Our room had no water, we were told it was because the room was furtherest from the system so we would need to wait to use our private nathroom until everyone else want using the showers, toilets or hand basins. Even then (5 in the morning) we had a bare trickle of pressure that didnt even clear the bath edge from the shower. Ended up having a splash bath with very luke warm water. Room was okay size but bed was very small. At 5'11, my husband had his feet off the edge. Pillows were so flat to be non-existant and towels provided were threadbare. Friends in the dorm had their bunk bed break, resulting in an emergency trip to the hospital with broken teeth and head injuries. Kitchen cramped with too many tables and chairs. Breakfast was very basic. Hike from hotel to downtown is okay as all down hill but the reverse is a solid 12 - 15 minutes uphill slog.

Awful experience at this hostel...very dangerous bunk beds. Top bunk disconnected and came crashing down in the night on top of me..trip to A&E at 3AM. (I will add this happened through normal use whilst climbing into bed and not through any negligence) Clearly not safe...please sort it out ASAP so no one else has this same horrific accident. less important note, wifi was terrible but that's more about Ushuaia in general I'm led to believe . Water supply was also touch and go..

We stayed here as part of a tour so didn't book directly, but do not stay here. Our room was ok, 2 bunk beds, but room ok size with ensuite which was a bonus. However, there was no water in either the tap or shower, so we had to go and ask them to sort it out. They did. But then no water in the morning either, by this time I had given up asking so didn't have a shower. The room was way too hot so asked them to turn radiator down, they said they couldn't and said just to open the window! But the worst of everything was that when going to bed I climbed on to top bunk & the whole bed collapsed. On to the girl underneath. I chipped half of one of my front teeth when I fell, the girl whom the bed fell on to had to go to A & E with a cut head. Luckily she is ok. The staff weren't particularly helpful in the emergency. We refused to climb on to the top bunks to sleep & they offered us another dorm room to go to. We refused so had to sleep on mattresses on the floor. The bed was NOT safe. There was no ladder & should not have been used for paying clients. It was an absolute disgrace. They should be closed down. No health & safety regulations at the hostel are non existent. Do not stay at this hostel.

We initially reserved initially for 5 nights here when we arrived they said we could pay at the end. Our travel plan change after we saw the town is astronomical pricey. Then after 2 nights we asked in reception if will be OK to leave next day considering we haven't paid all. The person at the reception in the morning said "Yes" no problem. However, that night someone else from the staff said no and they charged us all the nights supposedly because Booking.com already charged them a commission for the booking. How comes booking.com will charge them if we didn't pay upfront? Really disappointed they made the money in an empty room that probably they will charge to other couple again. Advice: make sure your staff know all the policies and do not take advantage of your guests. For travellers pay little more for a better place and people who actually can speak English.

Stayed here for 3 nights. staff aren't the most friendliest. place is run down and dormitory is dirty. bed comforter looked like it hadn't been washed and there were blood stains on the wall. I would recommend other hostels in Ushuaia instead.
