Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Exchanges not at Official rate, unlawfully will exchange at the rate your credit card should exchange You will pay more than a 5 star hotel. Also will put you in any room, not what you paid for. Do Not Recommend..They keep your room keys. Breakfast is LATE so less people will eat. Go somewhere else, most people in Ushuaia are very nice. At all other hotels we stayed in, they said it is not legal what they do. They will not respond. I am trying to put my claim at Ushuaias Tourist government offices.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL if you intend to pay with a foreign credit card, especially if you have booked via Booking.com. This hotel is using a convoluted exchange rate scam that will convert your agreed room rate, published in US$ using the ‘tourist dollar’ rate into AR$, your card provider will convert this back to your home currency using the bank rate which, at the time I travelled, was nearly 3 times lower. This tourist rate was designed to deter tourists from using the unregulated ‘blue market’ exchange rate but still give them a beneficial rate, higher than the bank rate. The aim is to encourage tourism back to Argentina and help to boost the struggling economy. Some hotels are wrongly using this scheme to their own advantage, resulting in room charges of approaching 3 times the published and agreed rate. They will claim that credit card payments will be refunded 50% within a few days… this is simply not true. If you are paying in cash or have an Argentinian credit card you will be unaffected.

Rooms are tiny, you cant even open one suitcase. We requested 2 twin beds and got one double bed that was, again, pretty small. The guy at the reception had zero motivation to help us and the whole thing was frustrating. At the end he suggested that they separate the bed the following day, but given how tiny this room was we preferred to keep it as one bed so that at least we'll be able to open our luggage. The worst part was the mattress, it was sunken in the middle, so was really uncomfortable, and you could feel every minor movement of the other person. I've never experienced such a bad mattress in my life. In the room we had a kettle with no tea/coffee/sugar, so my mom went to the reception to ask for teabags, the same rude guy there claimed this is how "it's supposed to be this way, go buy your own teabags". He was doing her a favor and agreed(!) to give her one teabag and one sugar. She was so embarrassed by this behavior that she said never mind and turned to leave, at this point this rude guy mumbled in his broken english "these people..." So she could here. English is obviously not his native language, but it was extremely important for him to insult her, so he made the effort. It was clear that we were not welcome there, so obviously I do not recommend this place to anyone. Never experienced such poor service. Also, the breakfast is pretty poor, and the breads and croissants were completely burnt. The only have eggs, one type of cheese, ham, cearels and bread & croissants. Nothing more that that, which looks extremely poor. The good parts - the rooms are super clean, and the rest of the staff were all pleasant and helpful.

I stayed 3 nights during my visit in March and was happy with thenlocation and the room. The hotel undergoes a few renovations right now and I hope that the carpet in the roln I stayed in will be part of it. The restaurant is nice and offers a great burger. The staff is very fruendly and speaks englich and is very helpful. Its well located slighly above town but all is reachable in walking distanceas Ushuaia itself is not really big. Shower pressure is good and room was very spacious to leave all things when you are travelling with a bit more luggage. Comfortable bed and I got some good night sleep there.

The two rooms we had (two couples) were both lovely, conveniently located within walking distance from the main street in town & reasonably priced. Both rooms had views and breakfast was included. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Stayed 3 nights, then a night before flight. A short walk to town central. Paid about U$ 125 for a 3 bed room with a view. Windows opened wide so could reduce the temperature to about 20c at night. Still not sure about the bidet. Like Europe - take your own face cloth Has an elevator so you don't have to schlep your bags up the stairs. Last night paid about U$75 for a Queen bed on the second floor. Both beds were great/firm/solid. Really good breakfast buffet. Spread Dulce de Leche on toast or mix in coffee, or both. Was told the home made from the Artisanal Market on the waterfront was multiple times better. Evening dinner in the restaurant was always good, with blues playing in the background. Take a phrase book - e.g. medium rare, etc. Again like most places in Ushuaia they would take U$, give a good rate and change was in pesos. Need up to/about 200 pesos for the cab to the airport. All staff Were helpful, friendly and had more english than we had spanish. Would stay there again.

Although it could do with updating, this was a good solid hotel just outside the centre. The staff were lovely and really helpful when we needed any advice or taxis. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was ok. We enjoyed our stay.

This is about a mile outside the city a nice walk on a sunny day. Not very friendly. We have to remember there is North America. Central America. South America and Mexico not every hotel understands customer service in the 50 states which is also America. Very clean and had Oreo's for breakfast they were free.
