Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. First positive thing that I can point out is the hotel’s location which is high on a hill. The views from that point are amazing! You get a Ushuaia panoramic view with the whole Bay Area, and also there is a Mountain/Glacier view from the other side of the hotel which is very gorgeous too. I personally got a Superior Room on the third floor with the City View, and I really enjoyed it! However, I will say the windows could use a cleaning and the view would have been even better. My room was pretty big. It was decorated kind of basic, but it felt cozy and homy there. All the furniture was in a good condition. The King Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the refrigerator was super small, and I could not fit much food and drinks there. Also there was a small and old TV in the room, it definitely needs to be replaced as does the refrigerator. The bathroom was okay sized, but could be a little bigger to feel more comfortable. I liked having a bathtub in my room even though it was small too and barely fit me (I am 6’ tall). Also I did not like the toilet which seemed low and tiny too. Another negative concerning the bathroom was no toilet brush. Plus, I did not at all like any bathroom amenities. They were of a cheaper quality and smelled awful. The hairdryer, which was built into the wall was very cheap and did not do a good job with drying my hair. Wi-Fi in my room and around the entire hotel was working very fast.
I would also love to point out the super nice and friendly hotel staff, especially a sweet and cute front desk girl who worked during morning/noon hours. The staff definitely made my stay happier, was always fun to chat with everyone. People in Ushuaia in general are very friendly and nice.
Another plus of the hotel is the free vehicle parking. I would recommend to rent a car for your entire stay in Ushuaia, because it is just easier to move around with everything in town and in the suburbs around it if you have your own car. To go down to the city center from the hotel by a taxi costs around $8, by the way. If the hotel orders a taxi for you, a car comes pretty fast (within 8-10 min).
Moreover, the hotel has a small dry sauna and a very nice fire place next to the lobby.
I paid $170 per night for my stay, and I believe that this rate is pretty reasonable for the good quality I got.
I totally recommend this hotel for a stay! Trust me, you will not regret it! Yes, you will not get Luxury 5 stars quality and service, but for sure you will feel comfy, peaceful and relaxed spending time at the hotel.

This property is half way up the hill to Glacier Martial. The bright green roof makes it stand out even when you're on a boat in the harbor looking back at the city. Has a big giant log cabin or ski lodge feel to it. Everything about it is spacious and large. Service is adequate and the staff not only means well but tries. They are just are a little on the slow side and it often requires consultation with other staff members. So they'll get to getting your whatever you need help with but it's always a lot longer than you think. The breakfast spread that comes with your room has a lot of variety so you should be able to find something to eat. You have to decide whether you take your dinner here or get into a car (self drive or taxi) and go into town for 3500 pesos for a meal. The only thing you can walk to is up the hill to the glacier which is highly recommended - great cardio and even better views. We had 2 standard rooms but one got upgraded into a massive room that fit 4. Everyone wants a view of the harbor but we had one facing the back, up the mountain and you felt like you were in Switzerland. If you're not in a hurry and you don't mind going up and down the hill to your excursions or to town, then this is a fine spot.

Nice hotel outside of Ushuaia. Room was on the larger size of hotels I've seen in the area, bed was comfortable, and water in the shower was hot (maybe too hot at times...). Internet speeds were very fast, both down and upload, though at times dropped and I had to reconnect.

The food at the hotel, both breakfast and food at the bar, was ok. The options are certainly better in town.

The views from the hotel, both of the mountains behind it and bay in front, were great.

My only hesitation of staying here on another trip is the distance to town. You could walk it, but it's a windy road without great shoulders always. I ubered a lot or took cabs, both of which were easy, but adds up in both time and money.

I definitely do not recommend this hotel in Ushuaia, go somewhere else!

You already start at the reception by an information printed on paper indicating that “due to Covid 2019, the hotel is short staffed and apologizes for any inconvenience.” I could understand that excuse during the first year, second maybe but we are 2022 now, it’s been here since 2019, that is not a valuable excuse anymore for lack of standards.

Later on that day, we went to eat the restaurant (our first night.)The menu, well half of it was not available. A bit disappointing when it says that the hotel offers Peruvian/ Argentinian fusion food.
After that, we waited more than an hour to get our 2 pepper steaks. Not a single apology during the wait or any update. We had to ask what was going on and then the waiter told us that there were only 1 cook.
It’s clear that the staff do not have a clue of what they are doing, how to welcome guests, or handle a service. No restaurant manager apparently that night and help from other departments for what, 10 tables ? It’s not a questions of being short staffed but organisation we are talking about.
The breakfast is even more disappointing than the service there. Coffee has no taste, and you can be sure something will be missing on the Buffet where ether you arrive at 8 or 10am. Quality of the products is not good. Most of tables are dirty, and they didn’t check our room number during the 3 first days, just to show you how badly this department is run..

Adding to that, during our stay, the housekeeping didn’t refill the basic bathroom amenities, even replacing back the only cotton disk left inside the box ? Weird thing to do.
Also no soap or paper to dry hands in the ladies room downstairs. It was 8 am. This is not normal.

4* hotel is what’s written but we are definitely far from that. My partner and I have been working in the hospitality for the past 10 years, this is a total shame. Staff aren’t trained and definitely not guest experience focused, Managers even worse and definitely not good examples to take from. Reading the previous comments and the lack of care of the general manager, better not waste your money there!

The Hotel del Glaciar in Ushuaia is a really nice place, even if on the expensive side. It is midway between the city and the glacier and the location offers wonderful views of the Beagle channel. The room was very spacious. Although a bit far from the city, the hotel is accessible easily by taxi. It is also located close to the trail to go up the glacier. The breakfast spread was good, and the staff were friendly. Surely a very good stay!

We saw some of the reviews and were pleasantly surprised with our stay as there were no negatives for us.. Free breakfast is great, the view from the room was amazing, and the lobby bar is excellent with a fireplace. The staff was very helpful in arranging taxis in less than 10 minutes and converting bills. We did not eat dinner or lunch there. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This is as advertised, a good option in the location.

What a charming hotel up in the clouds! Beautiful, spacious rooms and spectacular views! The staff are delightful and always ready to help. Hiking trails nearby and a quick taxi into town. Nice restaurant and breakfast too! I loved the handpainted flowers on the number plates by each guest room door.

Nice enough hotel, friendly staff. Rooms standard. Stayed for one night stopover as part of expedition boat trip to Antarctica.

But avoid the restaurant, very long wait for very disappointing food, at very high prices. Hour and a half wait for cold, under seasoned food at nearly twice price of a mid range Buenos Aires restaurant. Recommend a taxi to town instead.

The hotel has very nice views of the bay and the martial glacier. Very close walk to it and the tea house. The hotel is a bit dated and has seen better days, but the bed was comfortable. I asked for a late checkout, since my flight was in the evening for whatever time they could do and was given one to 6p which was very helpful; however The front desk person never mentioned an additional charge of 30,000 ARS (which was not a big deal, I should have just been told about it up front not when I was settling my account - I speak Spanish so it was not a translation issue) Breakfast was adequate but not great, the other food from the restaurant was very good. The hotel does have a central heating system so no individual control for temperature.

Overall it was an ok experience but proper communication would have been appreciated.

The place is good, and the location too, but need to rent a car.
The rooms are good, but still some details to be at the Wyndham level.
The restaurant was closed due to COVID and did not open yet.
Breakfast acceptable.
Perhaps the main concern is that bar, which is good but you smell food everywhere, even at the rooms sometime.
Need to solve the issue.

Staff was really good including people from the bar.
Good option, but far far from other top hotels in the area.
