Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I hate leaving bad reviews; travelling here from the US was a long and exhausting process. I arrived at 07:30, way ahead of check in, and didn't expect a room, but maybe a place where I could sit and have coffee. Gentlemen at the desk said coffee was part of breakfast buffet, that I needed to wait until I was checked in for the next day. Really? I couldn't have coffee even though I was booked here two nights? Wow. I got checked in at 1, which was fine, but the room was uncomfortably warm. I found the thermostat and turned the heat to cool. Tried to nap (up all night traveling here), but it was too warm. And, I heard people talking like they were in my room. They were in an adjacent room - talking in normal voices - no sound barrier at all! I set the air to the coldest setting and left, returned a couple of hours later and the room was hot. I called the front desk and was told no air conditioning and to open a window. Loud construction and traffic - and the neighbors talking = no sleep again. Day 2, repeat. New neighbors talking, room still hot, loud noises out the window. The hotel also offers free WiFi, but it was slow and intermittent at best. Just terrible. I thought I would give them a pass on that since we were at the "end of the world," but found the restaurants I ate at had good WiFi. Asides: no water or coffee available except until 10:00. The bigger issue was water, as the guides I read claimed "tap water in Ushuaia is not potable." I've traveled to Africa (several times), Borneo, Thailand, Norway, S Korea, Costa Rica - every place I've stayed provided water, and most had coffee or other beverages available throughout the day as complimentary. To be fair, they provided bottled water in the rooms - but in the mini bar for a price. And breakfast? The breakfast plates they provide are the size of coffee saucers! And the first thing they took away from the breakfast bar was the coffee pot!! So - not impressed. I would not stay here again.

We spent one night in the Albatross before embarking on a Quark Expeditions cruise. The hotel was included in the price. of the cruise. It seems to have been recently remodeled so the small rooms were nicely enough furnished. However it's not air conditioned and the rooms and hallways can get quite hot. The window opens but even on the 5th floor the noise level from street cruising dudes with loud mufflers and blaring music is bad.

Avoid this hotel if you’re reading this! It’s on the main street next to many restaurants and shops but the room feels too warm and once you open the window you will hear all the noises from the main street that you can’t fall asleep easily. The noise goes on all night. Mediocre massage at the spa. Breakfast was meh. The only good thing about this place is the location. Be noted that all reservations are confirmed in US dollars but you will pay in dollar MEP once you check in (1 USD equals 1176 MEP as of 09.11.24). Don’t rely on the local currency rate online, it’s not accurate. Stay somewhere else!

The room was exceedingly hot and we could not cool it down as the air conditioning at the coolest (16 degrees) was definitely not that cool. We opened the window which helped a bit! Also the breakfast wasn’t great! No black teabags! And there was a very limited range. The fruit mix was tiny bits so tasted a bit strange.

Stayed here on jan 31st 2024 Decent hotel close to the pier check in was OK helpfull staff. No air conditioning in room , no tea coffee making facilities in room . A basic set up clean room. Good wine bar . Dined at the Prana restaurant in the hotel , very bad experience ordered the ravioli and chicken stir fry . ravioli was topped with can tomatoes and the chicken stir fry was dry , tasted like old , tough pre cooked chicken had to send it all back In . Talked to the person in charge about it they could not care a damn offered a 15 % discount . Requested that chef who made this dish taste it no luck, Staff at the restaurant were rude and did not want to hear our complaint, Strongly suggest to give Prana restaurant a miss. Can't fault the location .

Very disappointed with this hotel. Staff are rude and arrogant. Run down shabby rooms. Stifling hot rooms with air conditioning not working. Staff couldn’t care less. Worst nights sleep in years! Breakfast like a hostel, not a hotel. Scrambled egg inedible, too undercooked with bits of egg shell in it. 10 am check out despite most people having to wait for an afternoon boat. No coffee machine! Water to pay for, very mean! Not 4* in anyway. Far nicer options available. Taxis cheap so stay somewhere else.

The expedition cruise booked this for the pre-embarkation night. The hotel was centrally located to everything you would need--restraurants, sourenirs and some other shopping if needed. The room was comfortable and nice bathroom. No aircondioning -- just open the window!. The breakfast was wonderful--full American breakfast--you didn't go hungry. There were comfortable areas to sit with a view of the water,

Nice looking lobby, restaurant and rooms. More attractive than vast majority or Ushuaia hotels (I’ve stayed in 7). Attentive service. Downsides: Temperature control- room is TOO hot (~76-78 F), AC controls actually just boost hot air. Front desk suggests opening window, but if facing the street, and on 1st floor like me, that results in noise levels not conducive to sleep. Tourists yelling, racing motorcycles, cars, etc. Bathroom: small even for one person. No counter space to speak of, and you have to squeeze between toilet and sink to get in shower (~18”gap). 2 people cannot shear even for a few minutes. This is in a Double room.

Room Tip: Avoid first floor rooms facing street. Ask for quietist room available and hope for the best.

Top location. We stayed pre-cruise and it was an easy walk to the marina even with our luggage. Main shopping street was just a block away. The rooms were comfortable and the wifi worked fairly well. Was able to stream a Teams meeting without video for almost an hour without issue. Not the cheapest option but a good value for the cost.

Excellent hotel just fifty odd metres from the port entry. Ideal for start or return stopover to your Antarctic cruise. Also just a short walk from the main shopping street with cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, outdoor gear and car hire. Rooms were toasty warm and there’s a spa to reheat your bones with free sauna and Turkish bath. Just a continental breakfast, but good enough. Friendly staff with good English were happy to store our luggage until our room was available (We came off our boat at 09:00). We’d stay there again.
