I paid USD 50 dollars for a room with a dirty bed comforter. The hot water in the shower lasted for 3 minutes, and there were huge spiders there. The owners weren't there the morning we were leaving, the guy in charge was clueless. The place was so dirty that we preferred to have breakfast elsewhere, even if they included...

We were trying to make it low cost, and we could thanks to the camping. The staff is nice and makes you feel confortable. The restaurant it's Ok, you can find cheap things and good. The problem was the bathroom (there is only one for all the first floor and the people camping there) they dont clean it often, at...

I don't understand the positive reviews here. Yes,the owners were sweet, but the place is worn down, feels dank and old. The bedding really needs an upgrade. The bedspread must be 15 years old. The pillow literally a brick. Also, when we got up the next morning, she said there was no breakfast. I didn't argue because I questioned myself...

The staff are terrific. However, this does not make up for the fact that this guest house has seen much better days. The rooms are sparse, the bathroom tiny with fixtures falling off. Not once was bedding refreshed over 4 days, nor baskets emptied or room cleaned or bed made. Other family members in other guest houses around Banos paid...

What a lovely old home, with delightful hosts Christian, Valeria and son Paola (who showed us around), and Argentine staff Neo and Federico. Very nice breakfast out on the covered porch, and a block from the wonderful hot springs with (visible from our window) the cascada...a waterfall so high you can see it from most anywhere in Banos. And incredibly...

I spent 3 nights here very recently. Maybe it was related to the time of year, but there was a late concert on two of those nights, and one morning, the school marching began practicing quite early. I could hear other guests at all hours, as there is no sound insulation in this place, so the amount of sleep I...

Run by the very welcoming Ines and Misael, this is more of a bed and breakfast, but they do rent beds in the larger rooms as if they're dorms, and at similar prices to other hostels in Banos. Basically this place has it all - comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, well-equipped guest kitchen, scenic views of nearby waterfalls, good meals available,...

Ines and Misael make the Posada del Abuelo the most welcoming place we stayed during a month in Ecuador. Large, comfortable rooms with nice common areas give the house and grounds a homey feel and it's location made it perfect for getting anywhere in town quickly. Having the hot springs only a block away was a big plus. One night...

One of my favorite places I've ever stayed. My husband and I had a room that looked out at the waterfall, which is almost a stone's throw. The woman who runs the place is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and there is a cute, very playful German Shepard pup who lives there. The rooms are comfortable and...

We stayed here 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Wonderful old house with plenty of warm water for showers and all rooms have private bathrooms. We could see the waterfall from the window of our room. The town of Banos is compact enough you can get around everywhere by walking using the church and the mountains as guides....
