We stayed in the Hacienda Manteles on Dec 18, 2016. It happens it was the last stay of our 8-day trip in Ecuador with Gate1 travel. This one was a quintessence of our trip in the welcoming, beautiful and friendly country. The road to the hotel was extremely scenic and zigzagging. Our bus stopped couple times to let the car...

The location of this property was pretty however my room felt like it was a converted chicken coop ( or maybe a hay loft at best). My room was in the main building up the back stairs. The toilet was missing a seat, the room was too short to stand up in and they couldn't find a key to the...

We were traveling with a Gate1 tour and only stayed one night at this beautiful property. We were very fortunate to get a room in one of the new building just across the garden.Room 20 was one of two suites in our building and as we were on the second floor we had a commanding view of the volcano from...

the hacienda manteles is a unique, magical, incredibly beautiful place. getting there is half the fun --- it is not easy but every twist, turn and downshift is absolutely worth it. when i arrived i was greeted by two big joyful dogs -- instant therapy for me because i was sorely missing my own! on the lawn outside my room...

The owners were extremely warm and welcoming. They made us feel like family. Even their dogs, Luke and Lulu, made us feel welcome. Luis, the manager was our favorite!! He constantly made sure everything was perfect for us. We can not say enough wonderful things about him. Our suite was amazing, with the most gorgeous views, of the countryside. It's...

We arrived after taking a regular mountain road, not dangerous. The place is magical, lots of birds everywhere, lots of hummingbird. The service is outstanding, everyone was pleased to help us and make us confortable, he room view, wow, espectacular. Food was awesome, top quality, the 40 minutes to the city of Baños does not feel far at all. I...

Booked through Gate 1. I don't think I will come here by myself. This is such a long ride but it's so worth it. The view is unbelievable beautiful. We are on top of the mountain. Because it is at such a high altitude, I have short of breathe easily. So make sure you take it slow when you walk....

Long, tree-lined drive leads to a large stone façade. Just beautiful. Inner courtyard has a fountain and nice plantings. The chapel was peaceful and stunning, laden with white roses. This is part of a rose plantation. Lots of history here. Had a nice 'local flavor' lunch in a beautiful long room. Also serenaded by 'Grupo de Musica Latino Americana Cotopaxi',...

The staff are very attentive and this place has the feel of staying in a B&B. Unfortunately, the area lost power during the night, but that did not keep them from serving breakfast. There are breathtaking views of the volcano and the grounds are well maintained.

The hospitality & the view were beyond what we expected in this 17th century property. The Cotopaxi National Park outside our window was a spectacular experience to wake up to in the morning. I would only recommend an experienced mountain driver to get there though.
