This is really a hostel and not a hotel. The rooms smelled like poo literally because of the exposed pipes. They give you a very small soap bar to use for a single shower. My first night the cops were going room to room searching for something or someone. They were outside with sirens going for about 45m. And the...

Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry that your stay was not as expected. We are not a 5 stars hotel, but we do our best effort to make you stay very pleasant. You shall not expect a 5 star service and 5 star facilities. We are a small family owned a managed 3 stars hotel and as you say...

If you need to stay in Ibarra for a night or two, hotel Montecarlo is just perfect. For holidays with family when you do not plan to be at the hotel during the day, it is also good. But if you need to stay longer or use the amenities of a hotel you might have to look for another one....

This is a very good, well-run hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the public spaces are pleasant and well maintained and the service is efficient and friendly. I was in Ibarra for work and given that there was no work table in my room, I was using a table in lounge area to write some e-mails. One of the...

The Montecarlo was one of our favorite hotels in Ecuador. We had intended to stay only one night and then find a cheaper place, but we ended up staying there for our entire time in Ibarra (four nights). All the staff were very warm and helpful with tips about what to do and see in the area, especially Francisco (the...

In November 2010 we travelled around Ecuador and we had a stop in Ibarra. Hotel Monte Carlo had been recommended to us by a friend. We stayed there about 3 nights. From there it was possible to make a trip to http://www.sanclementetours.com/ing_turismo_comunitario.php. This trip was a recommendation from the hotel manager. In addition to that he showed us the best...

My husband & I have made visits to Ibarra since 2004. Starting in 2006, we discovered the Hotel Montecarlo (recommended by locals). It is a comfortable, convenient, fairly priced, good service hotel. Now that I read the other reviews here, I fear it will be less easy to get into when we visit! Parking is available, though it will be...

The manager of teh hotel, Francisco Calderon, is the prototype for a great hotel manager. He speaks fluent English, is helpful, knowledgeable, and loves his job and his hotel. He provided us with lists of great places to eat and to visit; Gave us tips on how and where to travel; and how and how much to pay. We were...

I was trip coordinator for 15 people from United States that stayed one week at hotel while doing contruction/mission work at a church nearby. Several months prior to our arrival, I was in constant contact with hotel personel to verify reservations and amenities. All my questions were answered promptly and courteously. Upon arrival, hotel personel responded quickly and were extremely...
