Brilliant stay from start to finish. Room was large and clean, you can always guarantee a good nights sleep with premier inn!

Breakfast was great, they advise to prebook but I was the only one there. Julian was the member of staff on duty and he was brilliant and couldn’t do any more to help. I have an allergy and he ensured I had everything I needed.

Parking was not a problem with lots of spaces available. There’s a nearby Sainsbury’s if needed.

When I’m back in the area I’ll definitely stay here again.

Stayed for one night en route south - excellent quick, safe and reassuring check-in and very clear signage. Didn't use the restaurant for supper or breakfast as I preferred to wander into Cambridge for a 10k walk in the evening and find something in town. There is also a cost cutter shop within 300 yards (towards Girton) for those wanting supplies. Newly refurbished room was excellent - hot and powerful walk in shower, fast wifi, felt really safe in these covid times and I got a good night's sleep.

I had checked in on line but the receptionist insisted we did not have a booking we then realised there was a language barrier. The TV was very low so we asked for the sound to be turned up but were first offered subtitles until my husband insisted it be turned up - eventually they did so. The sound from rooms above were very noisy which disturbed our sleep. We ate in the restaurant next door but never again. We had booked a table for a certain time and it was not ready. The tables were very very close together. We ordered drinks but after 20 minutes had to ask where they were, we sent back 2 knives as they were so dirty. One of our meals was not nice, the mushroom risotto was gluttonous. There was limited choices and it was over priced. If we have to use this Premier Inn again we shall not use the restaurant. On leaving we were not asked if we had enjoyed our meal or thanked for coming.

Premier Inn sound great fanfares boasting how Covid secure they are. Whilst the measures in place and used by the front desk staff were good; and I observed them sanitising their hands frequently etc. Sadly however it seems the room wasn't as hygienic. Remote control which was promised to have been thoroughly cleaned was actually filthy; coated with bits of residue. See picture. Other surfaces had dust as well.

Other issue was the Wi-fi. The free Wi-fi is very very slow, to the extent it’s unusable for anything other than email. This combined with the abysmal mobile signal in the area forces you to pay to upgrade to the hotel’s “ultimate Wi-fi”. Even this wasn’t really “ultimate”, with the connection dropping and also the speed not exceeding 9Mbps.

On Monday the fire alarm sounded momentarily. Assumptively this was only a test, however it really would have been courteous to have been forewarned of any fire alarm testing taking place during our stay.

We were staying overnight on a Sunday for a local wedding and the wedding reception was just down the road.
The hotel gave us plenty of information before our arrival about locating the hotel, parking, check in and check out times etc.
I called in advance to ask about leaving our car in the car park while we attended the wedding, since we were arriving before check in, and the staff memeber was very helpful and said it wouldn't be a problem.
We didn't check in until 9pm but there was already someone at reception ready to welcome us.
We wanted to grab a late dinner but as it was a Sunday the Beefeater next door had stopped serving food so we asked the receptionist for a recommendation of where we could grab something to eat from a local supermarket. She mentioned that there was a garage down the road with a Londis which was only a 5 minute walk away. The directions she gave us were spot on and due to the convenient location we were able to grab a late night snack before going to bed.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the external appearance of the hotel given the photos, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The hotel was very clean and tidy. The room was excellent - modern and comfortable. Everything worked and again had been cleaned to a high standard. The bathroom was likewise in a great condition although I didn't get a chance to try out the walk in shower on this trip.
My mobile data struggled to connect at times but free WiFi was available.
We hadn't booked breakfast in advance but chose to book a table when we arrived. Unfortunately there was only 1 member of staff at the Beefeater who was having to serve everyone but she did a great job in the circumstances. There was a slight delay in taking our order and also in the cooked breakfast arriving but we were happy to wait and catch up. The cooked breakfast was a bit underwhelming when it arrived and the continental breakfast didn't look very appealing but the quality of both was OK and there was a good variety.
Overall it was still a great stay and I would happily go back but I would probably grab breakfast in town if I had the time.

Free car parking immediately adjacent to the hotel entrance. This was without doubt the smartest and best-presented budget hotel (Travelodge, Premier Inn etc) that I have stayed in. Bathroom/shower had that brand new look. Stayed for 3 nights. Ate in the Beefeater one evening. Service was good. Usual pub grub menu. Was fine. Bus stop across the road from the hotel. Run every ten minutes into Cambridge. Bus was £4.50p return and you can use the tickets to travel as many times as you like in and around Cambridge all day.

Easy to find from the A14 this Premier Inn is located in a pleasant neighbourhood about a 15 minute bus ride from the city centre. To catch a bus into the city turn right out of the car park and the bus stop is a 5 minute gently paced stroll away on the opposite side of the road. The number 5 & 6 bus routes have regular services. The return bus stop is located immediately outside the Inn. There is ample free parking at the Inn. The car park being shared with a Beefeater Pub/Restaurant.
Check in was quick and easy. The staff member on duty was friendly and even accompanied us to our room to hold the door open when she saw we were walking to our room with our hands full. The staff member on duty in the morning was equally friendly and helpful with directions and providing us with a map of the city.
Our room on the ground floor was spotlessly clean, and equipped with an arm chair and a desk chair. The television had a teletext service which is something we value. The unlimited free wifi was good but it did block certain sites such as the ITV 7 and Racing Post pages. It had a good sized walk in shower, with good water pressure and temperature, but no bath. It also had a hair dryer. The room had air conditioning that was easy to use. The windows could not be opened, which was not an issue for ventilation because of the air conditioning, but brought to mind how we could escape in the event of fire.
We had breakfast at the adjacent Beefeater. It was £7.99 for a continental breakfast and £9.99 for continental and cooked. The cooked breakfast is an order system rather than buffet. It is however unlimited. Many items on the continental breakfast menu were unavailable but all the cooked items on the menu were.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this Premier Inn despite the issues at breakfast.

Free car parking adjacent hotel , friendly welcome , good premier Inn room reasonable size with comfortable bed and clean and fully working bathroom with good shower. whats not to like .

The Hotel is 1 mile away from the centre , bus stop opposite into town and stop is outside on the way back , free after 9.30 if you have a bus pass.

We had a meal on the first night in the Beefeater it was fine , typical fare but I thought the service and quality was fine .

Its not in the town centre but i think the price reflects this, was exceptional value for money . Would definitely stay here again .

We chose this hotel as it was within walking distance of the university campus where we were going to collect my son from the following day.
The room was clean, tidy, quiet and comfortable and had a double and a single bed. The facilities were as one might expect for a Premier Inn, not quite enough plug sockets near where you need them and three pillows between the two of us! However, there was free parking on site and the room was on the first floor and we were not disturbed during the night.
The instructions on how to reach the hotel had not been updated to take account of a road closure just off the A14 and we had to take a tedious diversion through housing estates.
Other than these minor quibbles the room was perfectly fine for our needs, We parked up, checked in after a short wait in the queue at Reception and quickly got to our room. We left our bags, freshened up and walked into the city. The hotel is close to the city centre and local attractions such as the university buildings (none of which are open to the public currently due to the pandemic unfortunately), the River Cam (for punting), Castle Mound (the highest hill in Cambridge - apparently the camber in the road or lowered pavements at pedestrian crossings don't count as hills :-) ). It's a bit of a walk from the main train station and you would benefit from arriving by car or taxi. It's about a 20 minute walk into town and , as one might expect, mainly flat (except for Castle Hill, the one hill in Cambridge!

Excellent stay in Girton Premier Inn
We stayed for one night in order to participate in a research project in the local hospital
Room was comfortable and clean the staff were welcoming, efficient and we felt well cared for.
We would have liked the ability to open a window although the room temperature was perfect but understand that this is likely a security risk on the ground floor.
The beefeater adjoining the hotel was good, the staff were also welcoming and provided a good service. We would have liked some more choice for healthy options but the food that we ordered was fine and as you would expect.

Is there a park and ride or bus service nearby to get you into the town
Answer from Lizzie H

Hi Yes, there is a regular bus service, however, if you come out of the hotel and turn right, you can take a lovely walk into town. It takes about 20 minutes and there are some nice little shops you can browse on the way.

Their Head Office is just up the road from me I can't post it on here, but if you google Whitbread Head Office it should come up. They're in Dunstable. Hope you get it resolved. Best wishes Anj
