We stayed in The Hay Loft, it sleeps 2 in an enormous and extremely comfortable Kingsized bed situated in a mezzanine above the main room. It has a well supplied kitchen including dishwasher with everything clean - the cutlery and crockery come straight from this to ensure they are virus free!
The bathroom is again supplied with a good supply of hot water, enough to full the whirlpool bath which again is a real treat.
The sun lounge is also the perfect retreat for aperitifs either at the end of the day or in the rain.
You are welcomed with a Cornish Cream Tea and Judith, the owner, is always willing to help out if you feel there is something not quite right.
This is our fourth stay and to highlight the superb cleanliness we no longer bring out two Labs, they came once and just walking past the beautiful white sheets....!
Oh yes and you access to three ponds stocked with tench and the most fighting carp you can wish for.
We always leave with great regret but fully refreshed by our stay.

We had the most fantastic holiday in Hele Barton over the May half term. We were blessed with wonderful weather which was an added bonus but even without that the accommodation is fantastic.

We stayed in the Harvest Barn - there was 9 of us with 2 dogs and there was so much space.

The facilities were excellent - HUGE well equipped kitchen with all the appliances you need. The living space was beautiful and kept the character of the barn

There are 4 very good sized bedrooms each with access to either an en suite or bathroom.

The outdoor space was amazing. We enjoyed a few lovely bbqs in the gardens.

The owners are lovely and welcomed us to look round the farm and meet Whizzy the pony. We saw new born calves and also enjoyed fishing at the on-site lakes.

Bude is only a 15 minute drive and the nearest beach (Black Rock) is 10 minutes.

Truly a magical place and we can’t wait to return.

We booked out the whole place exclusively (all 5 cottages) for my 30th birthday celebrations. Originally planned for 2020 but moved due to COVID restrictions.
Judith was very accommodating at moving our booking and continued to be great with communication throughout the build up to our booking and during our stay.
Our group consisted of 12 adults and 10 children. We had THE best time. The whole place is stunning, the photos really don’t do it justice!
Every single accommodation was beautiful, clean and comfortable and all of them had their own unique style and decor inside.
The harvest barn is perfect for a big group, the huge kitchen ensures that you have all you need and the double fridge freezer was so handy to fit all our food in, not to mention the big double oven to cook it.
During our stay the big garden was such a highlight, we were able to use it to play rounders and we also arranged a bouncy castle from a local company to come on the Saturday which was agreed by Judith.
This place is very child friendly, our children loved the outdoor space.

I have absolutely no complaints and would 100% recommend these cottages, wether you are looking for a cozy couple getaway or a big family gathering it fits all the moulds!

Thank you to Hele Barton for making my 30th birthday celebrations truly special. I hope we can return one day!

From the moment of booking everything was made comfortable easy and chilled ...... We came here as a family and arrived early evening, as soon as we entered the barn we knew we had made the right choice in accommodation. Spacious, clean, modern and everything you could need had been thought about. We had small children with us and requested the necessary high chair and child gate, Judith the manager ensured this was ready and waiting along with goody bags for the dogs ( a lovely touch ). We visited Padstow, Newquay, Polzeath Crantock to name a few and all were within an hours drive. There are nice walks around the farm as well as Crackington Haven and Widemouth beaches within a 10 min drive We can’t wait to return for another idyllic ,kick back relax and recharge the batteries holiday

We originally booked this stay for 2020 but with the pandemic we couldn’t come, Helebarton was great in moving our holiday to 2021.

The harvest barn was fantastic for our family of 8, the open plan kitchen/ living area was great for socialising and each bedroom was large and had a good size bathroom.

The boys also really enjoyed the fishing lakes

The location is also great, just a short drive to Bude.

The only one complaint we had was with the bed frame in the room with the patio doors is quite squeaky.

Overall we had a fantastic stay and would definitely return.

We have just returned from a wonderful week staying in The Harvest Barn at HeleBarton. The barn was immaculate and very comfortable, hosts very welcoming and we throughly enjoyed the farm tour on a beautiful August evening, such a lovely touch. My youngest is a budding fisherman and spent many hours down at the lake catching the biggest fish he has ever seen. The location is perfect, not too far from brilliant beaches and walks but giving you a wonderful quiet and peaceful location. Honesty farm shop! What a brilliant idea!!! We 100% recommmend this place.

We stayed at Hele Barton at the end of July into August. What a beautiful place. We stayed in the Mowhay, on arrival everything was clean and there were clear guidelines on what we needed to do when it was time to leave. The setting is beautiful, views from the garden were amazing and some lovely sunsets. Amazingly quiet and pet friendly, we took our little dog with us who they also had a lot of time for. We spent the days at local secluded beaches and chilled in the evenings by the lakes where our children could fish and relax. The farm has a real family feel, Judith was very welcoming and at hand if ever we needed her. Before we arrived for our stay we had a few questions with all the recent changes with covid, Judith responded promptly and clearly to all our questions. They are absolutely 'on it'and we felt very safe.
We can't recommend Hele Barton enough and have already done so to several family members.
Thank you Judith and family. I can see why you are booked solidly through the summer.

We arrived at Courtyard stables on the evening of the 22nd December. My husband, young baby and I, planning to spend the week there for Christmas.

Unfortunately we were unable to continue our stay past the first night.

Entering the property our first impressions; the property was cold and smelt damp.

The storage heaters in the property were on however they were not sufficient to make the accommodation warm! We used the boost option which was still cold, my baby’s night light room thermometer was reading 15 degrees. There is a warm air blower heater in the living room which did help however this couldn’t be left on overnight so shortly after going to sleep the temperature dropped again and by morning was very cold again.

The bed was uncomfortable and the bedding itself felt damp.

I was disappointed with the overall standard baring in mind the accommodation is described as luxury. There were various other faults with the property which added to it being of poor standard; the front door required force to open and shut, the bathroom light flickered on and off, the bin was broken.

I contacted the owner to advise we had found the property unsuitable and was advised I should have contacted her first. With a young baby just before Christmas my priority was to ensure we were not in a damp, cold environment and this is not something that could have been rectified. It was mentioned this would be investigated but i have received no further update.

It was disappointing to receive no gesture based on our poor experience and no understanding of our situation it is not acceptable for anyone to be in a cold, damp property certainly not a young baby.

Response from Peter Chapman, General Manager at Hele Barton Farm Holiday Cottages
Responded 8 Feb 2024
Hi Chloe, Thank you for your review. I’m sorry that you feel that your holiday was not up to your expectations and I would like to address the issues which you have raised. We pride ourselves on our customer service and being on-site owners we can quickly rectify any problems (or replace items which aren’t working) as our other reviews will attest to. Had you raised any of these issues with us prior to checking out of the accommodation we would have rectified them immediately. The heating in the property is on a timer but the guests have full control and can turn the heaters on with the push of one button. Despite multiple communications with us through email and facebook messenger prior to and during your stay (including the 23/2)- the first time you informed us of any issues with the property was in an email in the afternoon of 24/12 (2 nights after your arrival) stating that you had already left the property- not giving us any chance to investigate or rectify. Anyone who knows us, knows there is no way that we would knowingly provide a property that couldn’t be adequately heated for anyone, let alone a young baby. I prepared the property myself and checked the heating in the lead up to your stay. The bedding had been stored in an airing cupboard and the bed freshly made up for your stay. I have since put a WiFi thermometer in the property and it confirms that the heating stays within the range 18-23 degrees c overnight so I can only conclude that you may not have operated the heaters correctly (we would have been happy to advise you on operation if you’d let us know you were having issues). What you have omitted from your review is that instead of being forced to embark on a long journey home on Christmas Eve, you instead spent the remainder of the 6 night break in our other property, Harvest Barn, with the rest of your family. We hope you and your family had an enjoyable Christmas. Kind Regards, Judith Chapman

This was our second visit to Here Barton Farm.

We stayed in the Hayloft again and loved the new flooring and the new extension that allowed easier access to the garden.

We love the relaxed atmosphere of the whole set up. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner Judith, should you need any advice, recommendations for places to visit, or any queries you may have.

It's close to many beaches and a perfect base for exploring the local attractions. There are many wonderful dog friendly pubs within a short drive too.

We tend not to go somewhere more than once as there's so much of the UK to see but we made an exception here as the accommodation is perfect for us. A huge barn with a log burner. A huge bath with . A huge bed on a mezzanine floor, so that our dogs didn't get stressed about being left downstairs!

I can understand why this place has 'regular' visitors. We're hooked.
