A 21 room hotel located at 50 meters from the beach, with a very popular Italian restaurant called ConFusione. The spacy, clean rooms are all equipped with A/C, private bathrooms and hot water. The standard rooms can accomodate up to 4 people, the big rooms up to 7 people. We have a huge jacuzzi, and end of may 2008 the lounge bar will be ready.

A beautiful hotel right in town at an amazing value. We stayed for four extra days we enjoyed it so much. The brand-new hotel is large, airy, and modern. The rooms are very tasteful and the bathrooms are huge and spotless. During low season, a double room is only $40 per night, much less than some of the dungeon-like rooms for rent right by the beach.
The owner, a warm Dutch man named Michael, made us feel right at home and his staff did the same.
If you'd like a nice (and kind of pricy) meal, there is Confusione, the Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. I'm not sure there's another restaurant in town with white linens.
I simply can't believe that people will stay anywhere else in Dominical within this price range. We loved the value, but stayed for the friendly, casual but elegant atmosphere. We'll be coming back to this hotel again and again.

This was the best hotel for the money that I stayed at. I had been traveling through Costa Rica for over two months and this hotel was by far the best value. The Dutch man at the desk helped me with any questions and there was a free breakfast. It was modest but there was more for the asking. It is close to the beach and isn't that what we all want anyway? Congrats Domiloca you get top marks. Thank you!

We stayed at hotel Domilocos for 3 nights. For 10 dollars a night extra we were offered the “honeymoon” suite which was huge compared to the standard double rooms. Nice benefits were the fridge and television in the room and the balcony with ocean view. Unfortunately the room was dirty and not maintained well: sticky floors, a disgusting smell coming out of the toilet and bathroom and rusty screws sticking out of the cupboard where once a handle was attached.
The food in the restaurant was very ordinary. Most of the meat appeared to be cooked twice, the prawns were still frozen in the middle and the pasta was like soup with a little bit of pasta in the middle. Luckily it’s just a short walk to the main street, where there is a lot of nice, fresher and a lot cheaper food to choose from.
Of course the hotel has also some good things, the owners are helpful and in front of the hotel is a tree filled with iguanas, but if I ever go back to Costa Rica I wouldn’t stay at hotel Domilocos again. For this amount of money, you can get better!

I first came to know the owner Micheal five years previous to this incident. My first travels to Costa Rica were with my then ten year old daughter and we stayed at he and Vivians hotel for five years straight. On August 10th of 2011 He followed my 15 year old daughter to the beach one night and physically accosted her. Forcibly kissed her and forced himself on her while she was yelling, and telling him to stop. I shutter to think what would have happened had I not walked to the beach after her a mere 10 minutes later. I saw it with my own eyes. I filed police reports in Dominical and also a complaint with the Instituto Costarricense de turi, case number [--] if you care to check my story.

We researched the area before arrival & selected this hotel due to it's representation. When we checked in the first room they gave us was dirty. They had black mold in the bathroom sink & all the drawers in the place. There was used napkins laying around as well. We found the manager to show him the room. With limitation of languages for both of us he showed us 2 other rooms & kindly moved the dirty fridge to the other room we selected. We had to stay there as other hotels we looked at where full. They wanted to charge $70 per night for dirty rooms & beds that felt like boards & in the early morning around 6am the staff start banging things around as well. There was a sign on the road as you entered the area where the hotel was located that advertised $40 per night. So when I drought that up to the manager he told me that was for a room with no ac. Needless to say ended up paying $50 per night not $70 due to the lack of cleanliness. Stay away for the hotel.. Other options in town much nicer...

Never and I mean never stay at this Dump.. They have the worse customer service..NONE, until you pay your bill. They are happy to take your money but they Don't even ask how your visit was.. They don't care. The lobby area smells like dirty wet dog all the time, even when the dogs are not in the room.
The towels are ruff and small, sheets are either so thin that you have to look twice to see if there is one on the mattress and have holes or they are so ruff and itchy that you can barely stand to lay on them..I would have to get up after just a few hours and put tons of lotion on again just to bare laying on them.
The beds were so noisy that every time you moved it woke you up and the other person in the room and someone was always moving trying to get comfortable.. Who ever heard of bamboo slats for a bed? Worst beds ever. Guess you could say Very Loud Squawking Shock you awake Beds. Thank goodness I brought my own pillow!! Because the ones they have are BAD!
The beautiful spa you see the picture of, is used as a kiddy pool for the owners kids.. They are either filling it up with a water hose or draining the slug out of it, which drains out to the parking area which is in the front of the hotel, which creates a muddy mess for you to have to walk in
all the time.
The room had a faint smell of sewage all the time.. The toilets were bubbling and making noise, but mostly it was the shower drain that was making all the racket at all hours. The sink was very slow to drain most of the time.
It would of been nice to have a chair in the room to sit on. It was hard to sit on the low beds that sunk even lower.
The room was very dim and there was no lamp to read by.
This is a noisy place to stay.. One of the many dogs that hang around was barking during the night several times.. You could hear people talking all during the night.. It seemed to be coming from behind our room..Some kind of tapping going on all night..You could hear the all the road trafic. The hotel laundry room was next to our room, we could hear the noise from that, first think in the morning.
Oh...Did I mention the dead rat on the way to breakfast. I'm sure at least one (more like several) of the staff walked past the dead thing. .. My husband had walked passed earlier that morning and later it was still there.
Now this wonderful breakfast several have talked about consist of the same thing every single morning....Scrambled eggs, fruit, beans and rice, toast , ham(lunch meat), cereal, orange drink, not juice, coffee and Pancake of some sort.. Nothing had any seasoning in it. Very Bland and mostly was all cold.
The tap water had a fowl smell to it.
The room was fairly clean, and we got lucky that the AC worked the whole time we were there, other"s were not so lucky..
Next store to the left of the hotel is a small Cafe. They make wonderful smoothies, They have great food also. The owner is a very sweet lady. She runs a great little Cafe. You will meet her children most likley if they are there.. They are all very polite.
The people that have written good reviews for this place must of bumped there heads while they were there.. Because I would never stay there again...I would rather sleep in the car..
I could keep writing.. but I want to put this experience behind me.

We were welcomed in our room by an overpowering sewage smell. As if a room that smelled like a regurgitating septic system was not enough, the "cleaning lady" had left a large trash bag that contained all the hotel's trash just sitting outside our room. Were we checking in early before they had a chance to cleanup? No, it was 230 in the afternoon. So, after having my olfactory senses blown away, I headed downstairs to consult the owner about the obvious plumbing problems that the hotel is experiencing (see other reviews about the smell). He entered the room, sniffed around and looked at me like I was crazy. He had the gall to blame the sewage smell on the luggage I had brought in. Seriously, he tried to blame the septic smells on my belongings or maybe "something I stepped in." I was finally able to switch rooms (this one did not smell much better but was tolerable) after arguing with the owner. All the furniture is cheap bamboo and incredibly uncomfortable, especially the beds. The "maintenance man", who also doubles as the kitchen assistant at the restaurant, was cleaning the pool the entire time I was there, yet it was so filthy that I don't think that a frog would even care to live in it. Stay away from this place! The owner is rude, it is overpriced, and it just plain stinks. Furthermore, I believe that the owner is scamming Tripadvisor with false reviews. This review is legit, I stayed there and I have no motivation except to share my honest account and review of this place. At least the young lady who worked in reception was kind. You would be loco to stay at Domilocos.

My partner, 2 boys (7 and 9) and I stayed at Domilocos for 3 nights while surfing with Dylan Park and his fab team. We had a very large main room with a small kitchen area, large wall-secured (and locked!) TV and blissful AC. There was a double bed and a single bed in this room. Leatherette couch that had seen better days but was functional. The 2nd room had a single and a double bed and a large closet structure, also with blissful AC. Bathroom had both a tub and shower but no AC and a bit of a stench. Overall, it worked for us and we were not expecting luxury. It was clean and made up each day, no view at all but we spent most time outside the hotel. Small plunge pool in the courtyard. Hotel staff were helpful and courteous when we asked for towels and glasses. Handy to have ConFusione downstairs for buffet breakfasts. Being associated with a surf school, they might want to invest in additional towel bars to dry all the water wear. Hard to beat the location near the beach.
