Finca Maresia is a great place. It is out of town but this is no problem as Juan was happy to pick us up/ drop off on his regular trips into town and there is a direct walking track down to the bay. Juan was particularly helpful in finding an excellent guide who met my husbands health and botanical needs....

A lovely place to stay, the rooms are really well spaced out with 2 showers shared between 3 rooms. Very sociable too with good value evening meals eaten all together at a big table. Easy to see lots of wildlife without even leaving the property, we had great views of toucans and scarlet macaws! Perfect for visits to Corcovado and...

We drove to Finca Maresia in a Kia Sportage. We had to drive through 6 rivers to get there, but it was fine. Juan sent is great directions. The place is a bit out of town, and definitely caters to the hardcore traveler. We met 2 other couples who own Outbacks. Try the (9 hour!) Primary Forrest tour with Greg....

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The bungalow was amazing, the food good, but our host Juan was the highlight. Went out of his way to make sure everyone had a good time. Looked after every small detail of our outings to make sure that we were able to enjoy the jungle experience. Hope to...

We first stayed here in spring of 2015, on our first trip to Costa Rica. Here's a link to that review, which is much more comprehensive: https://goo.gl/YJzED3 This visit was just as wonderful as the last. We stayed in the same room, coincidentally. The cast of characters at dinner was different than last time; the conversations were just as interesting....

We stayed at Finca Maresia for four nights in a basic room. The hotel is made up of cabins dotted around a spacious and beautiful landscaped garden surrounded by trees full of birds. Our room was spacious, comfortable and great value for money and the communal area looked our onto the surrounding grounds from which we could spend hours relaxing,...

We enjoyed our stay at Finca Maresia a lot. Juan was the best host you could ask for and already supported us prior to the stay in recommending and booking different trips (Corcovado Sirena & Nightwalk; both very recommendable). Juan creates a wonderful atmosphere at his lovely Finca, is a great cook and has the answers to all of your...

We stayed in one of the superior bungalows in March 2017 for 4 nights. Juan was an amazing host and owner. Organizing a shared shuttle to Sierpe , picking us up on the beach, booking our day trips. He was attentive to all his guests needs and made sure that we were enjoying our stay. Loved the communal atmosphere of...

Part of the charm of arriving was the 50km off road drive to Drake Bay (allow plenty of time to stop off on the way to admire the wonderful views, birds and wildlife). Juan could not have been more accommodating and hospitable when we arrived even to the point of postponing our communal dinner until we had settled into our...
