We stayed in a Queen room for 4 nights. The room and the furniture were impeccable. Everything was brand new, very clean and functional. You almost felt like staying in an IKEA showroom.
There are quite a few Buddha statues in the hotel and in the inner courtyard. Obviously in Nepal it is not a big problem to use these statues as decoration, unlike other Asian countries with a higher percentage of Buddhists.
The location of the hotel is perfect: very close to the Durbar Square, and in a lively local neighborhood.
Breakfast was served on the rooftop, where you have a nice view over the area. Due to the fact that this is a small hotel, they do not offer buffet breakfast, you have to select one of three set meals. Coffee was served in very small cups, but no problem if you ask for another, they will bring it up, you just have to wait a little bit.
The only problem we had during our stay was the fact that on one morning the shower did not provide hot water. The water is heated with solar energy, so on that day there was obviously a problem with the collector.
The staff was very polite and attentive.

Tucked into a quiet corner near Swotha square, nestled in a courtyard garden adorned with trees and local plants, Timila hotel is a hidden gem offering the best of Newari heritage with heartfelt service.

A Typical bricked house decorated with fine wood and stone carvings, you will discover Nepalese art and craft around every corner in the lobby lounge area.

The Timila garden cafe was the best spot I love most in early morning, watching the sun rays streaming through while sipping coffee under the shady tree. There is a little pool full of Japanese koi fishes, and a Buddhist stupa in the courtyard.

Food served at the cafe - pizza, sandwiches, fried rice, noodle soup - was superb and yummy presented in nice plating. They serve pretty good coffee too, my favourite is the turmeric latte, which works really well on weary stomach. Prices are reasonable and staff is eager to please.

Rooms come in various types, I prefer those overlooking the courtyard garden. Interior is sleek and simple, neat and clean. There is even a water dispenser located on every floor with free flow of filtered water.

The property is run by two brothers, who are honest and friendly. They have a small souvenir shop selling local handicraft at reasonable price. Worth taking a look if you want to bring home something memorable.

There is studio apartment on lease for long term stay, equipped with kitchen facilities. Highly recommended for seasoned travelers.

My husband, brother and I just returned from Kathmandu. This was my 7th visit to Nepal but I have never stayed in such a wonderful place. From the communication while booking to our departure, this hotel went above and beyond our expectations.
We arrived and they were at the airport to pick us up. (They had also waited 2.5 hours for us) Then they carried our luggage up for us!
There is filtered water provided each day and a wonderful breakfast served when and where you would like it.
Truly, this hotel is not only comfortable but every staff member sought to serve us at every turn. We will for sure return to Timila Hotel!

Never been treated better in a hotel. The people working at the hotel are fabulous with no exception. Our studio room was wonderful, everything new and clean. Fully equipped kitchen with microwave and refrigerator. They also provide a purified water dispenser that is an absolute must in Nepal. Very good breakfast on the terrace at the top is the building. The location is perfect: very close to Patan Durbar square but in a quiet and calm alley, an oasis of peace

My recent stay at this hotel was wonderful . The room was spacious, clean and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and all the amenities I needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The location was perfect, with easy access to all the local attractions and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and varied , and they had their own restaurant inside the hotel that served excellent meals with peaceful garden view. I also appreciate the hotel's commitment to sustainability with recycling and eco-friendly initiatives in place. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

I wanted some luxury after hiking in the hills and living in shared accommodation so the boutique hotel seemed a great option - i chose the bamboo suite as it was a gorgeous option to replenish for a few days. I was so excited it’s huge and has its own private terrace.

The decor is tastefully done retaining modern twist incorporating the local style of Patan. The staff were very helpful and extremely lovely and spoke excellent english.

The location is brilliant to explore heritage area of Patan. Things close early in the area a short taxi ride you could stay our later in other parts of town.

There are very few tourists travelling here so I was the only guest at the hotel!

Great value and some luxury was most welcomed before hitting the hills for more hiking!

Incredible stay. The rooms were comfortable and the location was very cool and chilled out, close to Patan Durbar Square (history / culture). I've stayed in Thamel before and it's chaotic and touristy; if you're looking for authentic and cultural, stay in Patan. Would highly recommend.

Lovely rooms, modern bathrooms, excellent air con/heating. Wardrobe small. We were a small group (11) and even though we had pre booked breakfast us all appearing together caused them problems, the last meal arrived after 30 mins. The view from the rooftop is interesting, certainly not pretty.
Good location for seeing the sites in the area.

Over the last three years, I have annually stayed at Hotel Timila several times annually and I love to come back. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are nice with top-modern bathrooms and hot water. The rooms and all other facilities are very clean. The hotel also has a garden, where the hotel restaurant serves great breakfast and within a few days, they will also serve lunch and dinner. I had a sneak peek at the menu card and it looks top-class. I can't way to go back. As if this is not enough, there is also a rooftop with chairs and tables - a great place to work. I am looking forward to going back in November. If not five weeks, as this time, then at least two weeks. Thanks to the wonderful staff!

This is an outstanding property where the hotel is very close to main attractions. Initially we booked bamboo suit. Room was very spacious and equipped with all the amenities we could think of. I must mention about staff of the hotel. Staff’s are very generous respectful and polite. One of the best services we have seen so far. They were trying to accommodate all our requests and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We were delighted to have the opportunity to choose different locations for our morning breakfast. Fascinating. We were very impressed and delighted with our initial two night stay; therefore we booked another 7 nights. Overall experience was excellent. Kudos to Timila management and staff.
