I live up in the mountain in Costa Rica, part time. Going to a city can be my vacation. Hotel Del Sur has nice, clean rooms with reasonable price. Swimming pool is clean and big enough, gym and tennis court, beautiful garden. My husband and...More
Stayed at Hotel Del Sur and was pleastantly surprised. Very economical, includes a wonderful breakfast, good pool, had dinner in the restaurant and enjoyed the food very much. Staff was, as usual, very accommodating. Our stay was during a Festival and the Tope which passed...More

Unfortunately I can only answer based on my earlier, not recent experiences. We ex-pats who lived in or around San Isidro relished our memberships to RCI's Hotel del Sur and the discounts we received on food and drink at the Hotel made other issues tolerable. There is no better gym, work out facility, in Costa Rica's Southern Zone than Hotel del Sur's.

Musoc bus is less than 20$, from SJO to San Isidro. From San Isidro terminal when you arrive, there are many taxis around. You can offer a deal, too. But most of them use meters, I don't think it's more then 5-7$.
