We toured Brittany last Summer and decided to used this chateau instead of an ordinary hotel. I can say it was probably the best decision and made us feel Brittany from inside. You feel like a princess there. Every single detail in the manour is perfect. The hosts are really friendly. Accommodation was splendid , breakfast a must and the... More

this is one of our top two chambres d'hote in France. Francoise and Dominique are great hosts. The chateau is magnificent in every way. Our room (we have stayed twice in the same room) quirky, comfortable and spacious. Everything you could possibly want is provided. The breakfasts are terrific and there is always something a little different on offer. We... More

We stared here for one night and it was great. We had a the Baroness' old room which was gorgeous with a side room for the kids and our daughter loved the mini four poster bed. The bathroom was huge and we had everything we needed. We used the pool the night we arrived and the following morning, with our... More

My wife and I stayed in the 'La Baronne' suite and enjoyed two days of exploration and relaxation, using this chateau as our base. M. and Mme. Avelange were charming and hospitable hosts and every aspect of the house lived up to Sawday's favourite adjective - 'quirky'. We loved the rooms, packed with an astonishing selection of objects. The bedroom... More

My husband and I spent two nights at Chateau Kerlarec in mid-Juiy, 2014. We can't say enough about Francoise and Dominique: two very delightful, intelligent, kind people. Francoise is also an absolutely wonderful cook. Our two dinners there were outstanding and reasonably priced for the quality of the food, wine, and cooking. Francoise's attention to detail was very evident in... More

We arrived at Kerlarec about 4 pm...too early for Madame apparently, but we had booked direct by email and no-one had told us it was unacceptable to arrive before 4.30. Similarly, when we went down for breakfast at 8.45am we were told abruptly that it was too early, breakfast was 9-10am, though no mention had been made of that before.... More

After reading the reviews before our stay I cannot believe we were at the same place. We arrived for our 2 night stay at the Chateau having travelled all day. We realised we were 10 mins early as check in was stated as 4.30. We entered the reception hall which smelt very damp. We called to see if anyone was... More

We definitely live on different planets. Smells damp ? Never heard such nonsense from any other guests over 7 years. Please, come and check, you are welcome !. Knowing check-in is from 4.30 pm, guests arriving at 3.50 pm, local time, GMT, cannot but be a "burden" when you are fully booked, busy cleaning and getting suites ready. My husband... More

We had 3 nights at this superb Chateau which is located with easy access to so many attractions in the south of Brittany. On arrival we were warmly greeted by our charming hosts, Francoise and Dominique and shown in a magnificent suite overlooking the driveway. The room, as indeed was all the house, was full of tasteful antiques and you... More

We much enjoyed our stay at Chateau de Kerlarec. We had a quiet, comfortable two-room suite (a bedroom and sitting room) that was beautifully decorated with French antiques. The owners, Francoise and Dominque, went out of their way to make guests feel at home and were very helpful in suggesting places to visit and sites to see in Brittany. Breakfasts... More
