We arrived at 7.30pm after a long drive and a detour cross country at this magnificent chateau. We had a very warm and friendly welcome and the two dogs in our party could not believe their luck as they had the run of the vast and very beautiful grounds. Dinner was laid out on the terrace for 8 guests that...

This was our second visit to a hidden gem....a picture book 19th century castle with cavernous family rooms. The charm of this place is its unfussiness. It feels like you are staying in a family home and you can roam the house and its grounds as if you were part of the family. Furnishings and decor are basic with lots...

We stayed for one night on our way back from the South of France. As others have said - it offers a very calm and peaceful stay in a wonderful location. 7 year old daughter blown away by the sight of the turrets as we pulled up. The swimming pool was most welcome after a long day in the car....

This château is 200 years old and is very unusual full of family artefacts. There is an outdoor pool and lots of lovely grounds, They accept dogs which is great. Rooms are traditional but there was no where to put your things, very cluttered. Breakfast was bread, croissants, honey and melon so we were disappointed with that. We stayed for...

Had a lovely stay for one night. Incredibly welcoming and different - definitely not a run of the mill hotel. The grounds and chateau are lovely and our room was amazing; big, comfortable and fantastic decor. We had a lovely meal (you need to book this in advance) - home cooked and high quality. The manageress was very friendly and...

Stunning chateau run by family. Totally charming and individual rooms. Very friendly owner who went out of her way to be accommodating even when we had to stay another night due to car breakdown. Pool was an added bonus. We felt like honoured invited guests and would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

Beautiful Chateau, however pool area needs care & attention. We did not see Florence and felt rather lost. Could not find anywhere to eat (Sunday evening). The towels were thin and there were holes in them. Our room was fine but help with luggage up 52 steps would have been welcome.

Only booked about half an hour before arriving as we were looking for a stop over on the way to Souillac. Very impressive chateau and charming owner who was very kind and helpful (we had two very young children with us). The chateau is wonderful and we had two beautiful rooms. As we had booked so late we ate at...

We have stayed at the Chateau du Boisreanault on a number of occasions over the past years. It is a delightful chateau, in a park like setting in the rural Loire/Indre Valley, albeit now in need of refurbishment. It is best now described as shabby chic! Our stay of 4 days was pleasant and relaxing. We had Room Hadrian on...

“Could recommend 'Hadrian' for a family of 4 - didn't see the other rooms.”
 of 5 bubbles n0tlikethatlikethis, 2 Sep 2015 | Read review
“We stayed in the room at the top, which is a well equipped flat good for self catering. The kitchen is simple but spotless and has all you need for lightweight carpet ring. The room as with the rest of the chateau has a slightly bonkers (in a sort of we-don't-care-for-convention) feel to it and was perfect for the 4 of us. It had a great view and was very comfortable indeed. I can't comment on the other rooms, but this one was great.”
