After some 25 years since our last visit we returned to the L'Hermitage for overnight stops each way on a recent holiday in France. What an improvement! From our first email enquiry to our final departure the impressions were of a really well-run, quality hotel. The staff were unfailingly courteous and helpful. The room was reasonably spacious with an excelllent... More

Fairly standard Logis accommodation with small bedroom but that's to be expected. Out of the town about 1 kilometre so you're tied into the restaurant if you want a glass of wine. However the restaurant was very good both in choice and service. Breakfast was also quite good. No complaints.

Bedroom traditional without embellishment but comfortable. Bathroom basic but Shower though old was good. Grounds attractive and well kept with good terrace area and a walk down to river. Breakfast good but standard. Parking had limited shade. Restaurant excellent, the main reason for choosing this hotel. Staff were pleasant and competent.

We stayed this year on Bastille Day, knowing that after 11pm there would be a splendid firework display visible from our room on the first floor in the old house. The main attractions of this hotel are the setting and gardens, bordering the river, and the old house. The restaurant serves excellent food both dinner and breakfast. The rooms are... More

We stayed for one night en route to Southern France. Our room was in the annex and very clean and comfortable. There were no restaurants within easy walking distance so we opted to eat at L'Hermitage. Thank goodness we did because the meal was excellent and of reasonable value and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Fully recommended.

We were offered a choice when we telephoned, and chose a room (a little cheaper) overlooking the car park rather than the gardens. We did not realise that we would be located not in the main house but in an annexe. The room was very small and so was the bathroom; the toilet was in a tiny room no bigger... More

Ideal hotel for a stopover. Set in lovely gardens. Friendly and efficient staff who give impression that nothing would be too much trouble. Enjoyed dinner and breakfast. Good choice on wine list. Would definitely stay again

This is one of our regular stopovers and we have stayed under the previous and present management. The house is lovely as are the gardens, though this time they had been badly hit by the canicule. This time our room was in the annexe which was reasonable but we prefer rooms in the main hotel - room 2 being our... More
