We've recently stayed at the Chateau de Saint-Loup, as we've attended a wedding in a nearby village. This property has exceeded all our expectations. We've stayed in a room on the top floor, and it was a very good size bedroom with a comfortable bed, a lovely bookcase, a sofa and a coffee table. We've very much enjoyed the breakfast,... More

We had our wedding at the Chateau Saint Loup and we can't speak highly enough of the venue or the fantastic owners. The Chateau was in great shape and the gardens were immaculate. The owners Charles-Henri and Sophie worked so hard to ensure all of our guests had a great 3 days and were always available to help in any... More

The Chateau and Tower are a great place to stay as long as you understand the limitations beforehand. There are a lot of stairs - we had 72 to our room at the top of the tower. Wi-fi exists only at the bottom of the tower and if you are lucky at the windowsills of your rooms if you are... More

This is a picture book French Chateau, a little faded in the most genteel way. Rooms are in the mediaeval keep along side and are huge. The welcome from the hosts is understated. Writing as a Brit, if you were to stay somewhere similar in the UK you would pay a lot more. The surrounding village is lovely, though inevitably... More

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to get the full experience of the chateau or the vast grounds, as we were visiting family in a nearby town. The woman who received us when we arrived late in the evening was very friendly and welcoming, and she's the same woman who serves breakfast and handles check out. We were given the "Suite... More

My wife and I loved this place ! Super friendly hosts, open access to the very extensive grounds and a room full of character. If you want a conventional hotel then avoid but for a memorable experience we would really recommend it. The village also has three restaurants although only one opens on Wednesdays.

St loup is one of the most beautiful chateaux I have ever visited. The rooms are all in their original state and the grounds are fabulous. We loved it so much we are going back next year. This truly is a special place and it has been looked after with real love and care.

The Chateau itself consists of two buildings an old watch tower that was rebuilt later and renovated a bit and a magnificent mansion. We stayed in the tower. We arrived around 5 pm and were met by the owner at the gates. He and his wife are very nice and friendly people. You can see that they really try their... More

It was by chance I found this hotel. The building is amazing and beautiful. The proprietors are dedicated to the restoration of this 1000 year old Chateau and there love and dedication ouses from them. Unless you have pre booked dinner you should take a 2 minute walk to a small but very nice restaurant where the normal high level... More

We visited this Chateau on the last night of our European trip with our extended family with teens and twenty-somethings. It was a delight! Charles Henri and Sophie make this incredible chateau with an ancient Keep homely. It is a huge project they have taken on to keep this place alive and gradually bring it back to it's former glory.... More

“Pick your room from the Chateau website, so that you know what you are getting. The price you pay will reflect the room you choose, with the better rooms costing more that the smaller rooms. (But still good value.) Older guests might find the spiral staircase to the top floors of the dungeon to be a problem, if this is the case ask for a room with minimal stair climbing. Because of the thick stone walls, WIFI works in some rooms, but not in others. If WIFI is important to you ask for a room with good reception.”
