We booked a twin room with shared bathroom. Paid a ridiculous price like everywhere in Iceland so was expecting a decent room. There was hardly anyone at the guesthouse but we were given the basement room that's an L shape. Dark and not a good spacial design and since we were staying for 2 nights we asked for another room...

Hello Thank you for respond and I am sorry about your experience at Stöng. a But there are few facts that I have to correct. It is serious accusation to blame somebody about racism. At least you should at least have to complain when you were at the guesthouse First : and even if you stay in the cottages there...

We were booked for a shared bathroom but pretty much had it all to ourselves as there weren't many other guests that evening. Room was spacious and clean with good wifi connection. We had dinner there and it was pricey but worth it - the lamb was simply exquisite! The farm is a bit of a drive in from the...

We arrived at Stong a bit after noon today. There wasn't the usual farmhouse flag and we weren't sure we arrived at the correct place. We parked were we saw other cars parked and were told to drive around front. We drove around front, used the bell and waited for the same person to appear. We were told our room...

The accommodations were quite nice. The road to get there was a bit tenuous (pot holes and gravel). There is nothing in the immediate area, so if you don't have your own snacks, you will need to eat at their restaurant. The staff were all friendly and we had no problems (our room was on the 2nd floor - and...

At first, we wanted to stay near Lake Myvatn but had no places to book and suddenly found this place as an alternative, but turned out to be amazed. We made our way here in a very late evening so everything was dark, but it was so beauty the next morning with sheeps around the cottage. We stayed in a...

We were a bit reserve to stay here because of things we had read. But to our surprise, our group was placed in the new building guesthouses. No, kitchen in them, but the rooms were very nice and cozy! Very hot water! Great views! It feels like a farm. The rooms are very new and clean. The food is very...

One of the selling points when booking this place was the supposed hot tubs..but guess what-- no hot tubs. They had taken out the old ones and not yet built new ones. so we felt misled and very disappointed as this really had been a selling point. Second issue..since all other guest houses we had been staying in had shared...

Stong is located about 5 km down a gravel road a short drive from the Southern side of Myvatn lake....so within easy reach of near enough everything in the area... it is in the middle of nowhere in many respects, with rolling fields and majestic views all around. The little huts are a comfortable, warm and reasonably well equipped for...

As you drive down the 6 km gravel road to the guesthouse, you know that this is going to be an authentic Icelandic experience. We saw 6 species of birds on the drive. Friendly family who raises the lamb, Char(trout),and many vegetables and fruits.A true taste of rural Iceland.

The place is an old sheep farm on the top of a mountain. They have put in new rooms that are wonderful. The restaurant was wonderful with fresh food from the farm. One of our favorite meals. The breakfast was great. Waffles. Rooms in the house are a bit dated with shared bathroom.
