In the middle of nowhere, you will find this quaint estate of örn and Laufey. A coastal haven for nature lovers with spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges. The horses, sheep, geese and all the other wildlife that lives on this peaceful sanctuary are often the only ones you will hear as you quietly sit outside. My partner and...

Fantastic hostel, we stayed in a private room. Charming old farmhouse, horses, sheep, ducks, and more. We loved every minute and will be back to ride the horses to see the seal again! Fabulous location to see the northern lights!

We picked this place because of one random recommendation on the internet. And it was a very good choice! We called ahead and booked a two hour horse riding trip for 4 pm (the second option is 10 am). You can also book longer rides, but those are for more experienced riders. It is quite a drive there and the...

We were a group of four adults and 2 young children. This was a perfect place for us. The kids could play outside or in the sunroom. There were other young children visiting, so they all had something to do. Nice kitchen area to use. Very clean facilities and a place for putting your recycling items. The woman that showed us...

We only stayed one night and the hostel is very much in the middle of nowhere. However, it is well worth the visit, since the location is so peaceful and the owners are so friendly. We also loved that this is more like an old-fashioned hostel with its lovingly assembled furnishings and decorations. There are some nice walks nearby and...

I have only spent one night in this hostel, but I really enjoyed the experience. The hostel is located at the end of one of the East fjords. The drive there is mostly by gravel road but it is really nice. We were welcomed by lots of seals! This fjord is a place where the seals go to have their...

The hostel is located in the middle of nowhere. It is a nice farm that raises horses and other livestock. The rooms are okay BUT there is no heating in the room. The wifi can be used in a different which makes it impractical. The owners are nice and they helped me to replace a flat tyre.

The drive was scenic, and the location isolated. People were welcoming and eager to help us enjoy the trip. We came as a group, visiting from a farm just west of Egilstaddir. We trotted out for a couple of hours on horseback, and after the ride we stayed for a while to greet and bond with the young lambs in...

Myself and a friend stayed at this hostel for one night while driving around the country. We were a little unsure where we were going while driving down the 30 unpaved road (could be a little tricky during winter but we were fine in a Suzuki Swift). At the end of the road is a lovely farm house and hostel...

The sun slowly fell out of view as our two-wheel drive car tumbled down the long and winding gravel road to Husey. As we arrived at the gate, birds were flying off and horses were gently trotting around the property. The staff was warm as they greeted us and showed us the guesthouse. The house itself is beautiful, and was...
