Hotel was quality price but from the pictures we expected a little bit more, the hotel remind me to my times in college and well 10 years ago I might give it one more star but nowadays I was looking for something different. Service was good

The Edda hotels are dotted around Iceland but this was the only one we stayed at on our trip, mainly because the others were full. They are all high schools which are converted into hotels during the summer. I really liked this place and found it interesting to see where Icelandic 16-18 year-olds study. It was spotlessly clean, in a... More

We spent a night and had dinner in this hotel (a school transformed into a hotel for the summer holydays). The room are spacious enough and each has its own bathroom. Ask for a room with a view over the lake. The restaurant offers a limited choice but we took the menu and it was fine. The breakfast was one... More

If you stay in hostels, you will like this place. If you stay in hotels, you will be disappointed. The rooms are spacious but dirty. I only wore shoes to walk around because I could see the floor had not been mopped at all. Beds are what you would expect for a kid's dorm. Sheets are scratchy. Wifi worked well.... More

A relatively simple, but clean and environmentally friendly place (geothermal water). Views over the fiord are terrific with all rooms (as far as we can tell) facing the panoramic sights. The staff both at reception and in the restaurant was super friendly. Dinner and breakfast were very nice and tasty. we found here the best waffle maker ever! The hotel... More

Edda hotel is located in Egilsstadir which is a very small town in northeast of Iceland. It is a simple hotel without great pretenses. The room was very plain while the view of the lake from the room was nice enough. the staff was helpful.

Clean simple hotel. Friendly service. Beautiful location overlooking Lagarfljót. It has the feel of a school dormitory but I enjoyed it more for that. Reception and waiting staff couldn't have been more helpful. The fish dinner was one of the best meals I've had in ages. If you are traveling and want somewhere to stay over I thoroughly recommend this... More

The hotel Was good, but there weren't the black curtains for sleeping. In summer there are 24 hours of lights and the curtains didn't make dark in the room. Breakfast Was very different and good. The receptionist Was very Kind. The room Was big and the hotel water is geoterma la water. It is a very ecologic hotel. 👍👍👍

We didn't realise this was a school during term time when we booked it but what a fantastic idea to use schools during the holidays and what great accommodation. Definitely stay in an Edda hotel if you visit Iceland they are brilliant with good clean basic facilities. The bed was comfy, bathroom clean and breakfast one of the best we... More

This property was just fine for a one night stop in Egilsstadir. It was clean and comfortable. There were no frills, nothing fancy or special about it, but provided a good nights sleep. I was a bit put off when I was checking in and they told me a price for my room, then told me where and when they... More
