Stayed here last week as part of a family group. We had spent a couple of weeks deciding which part of Ireland to visit and I'm delighted we settled on Carlingford.

We availed of a really good staycation offer for €119 per night which included lots of extras including dining credit.
The staff in Four Seasons have been outstanding from dealing with our numerous requests to making time to engage with our children which goes a long way with us.

Bedrooms and hotel in general were spotless, a staff member during a conversation mentioned that the hotel were awarded a Covid-19 safety charter award.

Any staff member that we had encountered during our 2 night stay were polite and very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were all enjoying ourselves.

The dining options were plentiful and food was delicious both for breakfast and dinner.

All in all, everyone really enjoyed their stay. It was our first time visiting but certainly won't be our last.

The hotel itself is beautiful, friendly helpful staff, The breakfast was amazing so many options, they even had soy milk for me, the pool and hot tub etc was all open and not very strict with COVID to the point where you felt policed like other luxury homeless we have stayed in recently, so I enjoyed being able to relax in the steam room and pool without hassle. The location couldn’t be better, the view is absolutely breathtaking and it’s about a 3-5 min walk from the main town area pubs etc. My only issue and the main issue I had was the room. We booked a double room for two nights and for the price I would expect a high standard of rooms. It turned out our room (on the ground floor which was very handy and just down the hall from the pool) was connected to the next room by a false wall and a wooden door separating the rooms. This meant we could hear every single sound from the next room; their phone calls, their conversations, their tv, them snoring, their alarms and at 4am when they decided to sit up talking and laughing until 6am I was really ready to cry I was so tired. Also the beds are very hard and the pillows were very thin so it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep. Apart from this the hotel itself was beautiful and maybe if we complained we might have got moved rooms but I don’t like to make a fuss so I didn’t make any complaints.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue for our big day. Everything from the decor to the staff, management and food was perfect. The manager Linda went over and beyond for us, even scrubbing my dress clean when it got mucky outside!! We arrived to a red carpet reception and Linda greeted us with a glass of bubbly and took our umbrellas off us while we went to get a few photos. We received a first class service on the day as did our guests, lots of people are still raving about our wedding at the Four Seasons Carlingford. Linda made the whole organising process very easy and nothing was too much bother, the hotel are very good and easy to work with, we negotiated a few little extras in our wedding package which made all the difference! The food was amazing and was served efficiently (despite the speeches running way over time), all dietary requirements were catered for. People got second, and in some cases, third helpings for dinner! The room was set up perfectly and just as I imagined, including favours, photo table, sweet table and cake boxes. The kids favours and colouring books were set out correctly as well which they enjoyed and kept them entertained the whole night. The hotel even printed out additional photos for the tables to fit in with our Christmas table plan. Linda was great at advising where to set up different stations - e.g. photo booth, caricature, band, sweet table and guest book table. Linda also assisted the grooms family in setting up a screen to play a surprise wedding video for myself & my husband, we were none the wiser! Linda was very proactive in helping us box up and carry out our belongings on the day we left. We were also allowed to book the bridal suite for the second night as we were staying the full weekend.
Prior to the big day, we were invited up to a menu tasting which included a glass or two of wine, we really enjoyed that and meeting Linda to go through everything in fine detail. We originally had a different wedding planner who left, so we were a little concerned about who would be taking on organising our wedding, but Linda really pulled it out of the bag and she was brilliant from start to finish.
In our wedding package, we were offered an overnight stay for 2 with breakfast plus hot stone massage for our 1st wedding anniversary and we are so excited to go back to the Four Seasons!!

From arrival to departure fantastic midweek spa break . The staff in Luxe Spa were so professional, and the treatment package we availed off was such good value. The comfort and atmosphere of the spa is second to none. The hotel room was spotless, any staff encountered moving about the hotel were friendly and courteous and any enquiries/requests made were dealt with in a professional and friendly manner. Will definitely return for another spa break.

Booked the hotel as it is very well located and was looking for a treat for myself and my wife. Arrival was fine but they would only take credit cards to allow booking of dinner/drinks to our room - we only use debit cards. Not a big issue. The receptionist was very friendly and informative and we were checked in within 5 mins of arrival. Our room was a large family room but ground floor facing the carpark so, not a particularly nice view. While large, it was very dated and needed a deep clean. It was not untidy but showing ground in dirt that was not removed with regularly cleaning. We ate in the town so only came back in the evening. Breakfast was well organised with tea and coffee arriving very promptly. We both went for the hot breakfast which was not especially hot and lacked a good "Full Irish" taste. Breakfast staff were a little "off", but in fairness, they were very busy, Check out was very easy. Overall, while the staff were pleasant, the hotel is nice but I would not agree with the 4 star rating. 3 at best.

Sometimes life can be tough and a little night away makes you smile and happy. The four seasons in Carlingford is such a beautiful hotel with such wonderful staff who go above and Beyond to make you feel so welcome. We had such a lovely night away which started off with a warm welcome and a upgrade sadly I can’t remember the girls name but she was so kind. The room was beautiful with a four poster bed and beautiful views of Carlingford. Dinner was yummy and you do vegan which means a lot. The bed was super soft and we slept well and the breakfast was great and again food is vegans could eat. To swim in the leisure centre and Jacuzzi was very nice and the girl who works there a star. Thank you to the whole team for being so kind and friendly it’s just what my partner needed as she is going through such a hard time. I highly recommend a stay here. The room was also very clean and lots of safety covid stuff in place around the hotel to make you feel safe Like hand sanitisers. Thanks again. Vincent and Becky

Went to the hotel specifically for the spa, was told when I rang in advance that the spa was fully wheelchair accessible. NOT TRUE. sadly there was no wheelchair accessible toilets in the spa area and my sister who uses the wheelchair was unable to access all of the spa facilities, she only had a access to the treatment room and relax area, which she was unable to spend any time in as she needed to use the bathroom. This was extremely disappointing, as this was a special treat for her after major surgery, however Tara was so apologetic (not her fault) and sorted us out financially. This did put a damper on our break, and so humiliating to not have an accessible toilet. The spa is gorgeous but not for anyone with mobility issues. The hotel itself is lovely, however the wheelchair accessible room was at the end of the capeted corridor which is extremely difficult to push a wheelchair over, and also the room carpeted, obviously no disabled person was consulted in the design. The staff were very Friendly and excellent customer service, with a good choice of food in the restaurant and a wide selection for breakfast. I used the leisure facilities and whilst they were functional they were outdated and tired and could do with refurbishment, really let's the hotel down. I did mention my disappointment to the receptionist on check out but she didn't seem to think it was a problem and offered no apology so overall very disappointed.

We stayed for 2 nights, myself and my 10 year old had a twin room which was lovely and very spacious and my aunt had a single room.

Check in did not go well. It was very very slow and I had made a special request in advance which was ignored. When we rang reception from the room phone to complain (I couldn’t face the queue at reception again) the phone fell apart...

Dermot saw me stressing at reception and came to the rescue. He had it all sorted and my aunt moved to a different room in 5 minutes and he came over to say hello anytime he saw us around the hotel for the rest of the weekend. A very nice man who is clearly passionate about his job and always working hard. Never stops moving! He was out at reception too ensuring social distancing.

We ate in the hotel both nights because the food on the first night was just so nice. Alana is a fabulous waitress and couldn’t have done more for us. Very chatty too.
Would definitely recommend eating in the restaurant, and including a dinner in the room package.

The breakfast buffet is served by the staff due to Covid but they are managing it well.

The cleaning staff didn’t do a good job on our room the day they made it up.
Very few towels too for a twin room. We were short.
They are so unhelpful too, even my daughter said to me that everyone in the hotel is very friendly but the cleaning staff are very unfriendly!!

We went to the swimming pool, staff here also very nice, pool was clean and a nice temperature. we showered back at our room.

I requested a bathrobe from reception for going to the pool and it arrived super quickly.

Checkout was super fast I was impressed with this.

We had lunch at Ruby Ellen’s Tea rooms - highly recommend. Fab! You can sit outside too which is good.

This is a lovely hotel, it’s easy going and relaxed and the staff like to talk to their customers which is nice :-)

We had booked to come here last year but owing to Covid restrictions had to cancel. This year two of our group decided to try again and we booked two nights with dinner and arrived there in pouring rain around 2 p.m., knowing that check-in was from 3 p.m., so decided to have lunch there in the meantime.
With Covid restrictions we were allocated a seat and informed that the kitchen was closed now, and we would have to wait 20 minutes before our order could be taken, so asked for a jug of water. When it was brought to us the waitress told us she could get us soup and brown bread now, which was perfect, and we were able to have lunch.
Our room was fine, but my friend does not like too much heat, so the following day we asked the room staff to turn the heating down, which they did.
The first evening we went to the dining room and were seated. We had looked at the menu at lunch, so were able to order immediately. My friend was really looking forward to the chili garlic prawns, but she was very disappointed in them, and told the waitress she could not eat them, as they were floating in oil. The next day we asked at reception and requested a refund of the dinner for that night as we would eat in the town. A refund was authorized and we were told that we could talk to the manager when we checked out the next day.
I had ordered scampi and chips which I enjoyed, but my friend said she could not eat there the next night. We both had the starters and desserts and coffee which were fine.
Breakfast buffet was served behind a rope, and was very nice, with no complaints!
When we were checking out we met one of the managers who gave us a refund in excess of the cost of the meal which satisfied my friend.
We found the staff were very pleasant and attentive.
Parking at the front of the hotel was grand and we had a walk around the garden to the side. We were not interested in any of the spa facilities.
The area is interesting and full of outdoor activities, and the town had some old buildings with plaques. We drove along the coast and up to Newry and along the coast opposite.
This was my first hotel break for a year and we were very lucky that the sun shone most of the time, but we drove home in pouring rain.

Staff very friendly on arrival at the reception area. Loads of hand sanitising stations and staff wearing masks which was comforting. The bedroom we got was very poor, bed and pillows very hard and stiff, made it difficult to get a good night sleep.
