The pluses are it is very clean, bathrooms small but comfortable, beds comfortable but room a little on the small side. The negative are and I'm trying to be kind, home converted to B&B with four bedrooms on the 2nd floor, hard to find location even with a GPS and please don't waste your time with breakfast.....I'll stop there.

Last month, on a trip from the US, my mother, three sisters and I stayed at this lovely B & B. Our hostess, Josephine, treated us like close friends, and could not have been nicer! The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were bright and cheery, and the food was good. This location provides easy access to Trim Castle, Newgrange,... More

Josie was an outstanding host, she even went out of her way to make sure she had gluten free bread available for my wife. The room was comfortable and well appointed, with a really nice blend of old world charm and modern convenience. Breakfast included a selection of cereals as well as fried egg, two kinds of sausage, bacon, tomato,... More

We were delighted with our stay, and Josie was so kind and caring! Of the three B&Bs we booked for our week in Ireland, Josie was the ONLY innkeeper that remembered that I needed gluten free breakfast. The inn was beautiful, and within walking distance of Ennis, if one is so inclined. Our room was well appointed, and Josie even... More

Stayed here after touring the west coast because of its proximity to the airport. Got much more than that. Josephine was a lovely hostess and very welcoming. She drew maps to places to eat, as well as where to catch a bus into Dublin. We enjoyed visiting with her and learning a little about her family during some down time.... More

Stayed here for the weekend as we attended a wedding nearby. Josephine is a great host, very helpful, serves a lovely breakfast and made us feel very welcome. Our bed was very comfortable and the facilities were great. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would happily stay again!

This is a really nice B&B in the outskirts of Navan, The owner is helpful and make you feel welcome and "at home". We really enjoyed our 2 nights here, second was a little short due to the fact we had to leave early to catch our flight back to Norway. Should have enjoyed a couple of more days in... More

I stayed in Bothar Alainn for one night and would highly recommend this b&b to anyone. From the moment I spoke to Josephine she was personable and friendly, giving me directions and making sure I felt comfortable to find the house. She went above and beyond during my stay- and even dropped me to the venue where I was attending... More

Unfortunately our stay at the Bothar Alainn House was our last night in Ireland. We were already sad to leave Ireland but after meeting Josephine I was even more sad. She was the sweetest woman. We arrived an hour before the 3pm check in time but were greeted with open arms and a smile. We dropped our bags off in... More

The room was spacious, bright, sunny and comfortable. We were happy to spend our last two days in Ireland here with Josephine, what a peach of a woman. We were made welcomed and shown our room, good parking too. Was a little secluded from towns but not by much close to the Hills of Tara and New Grange maybe less... More
