The hotel is beautiful from the reception area to the infinity pool and the well maintained gardens. Our room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard every day . Lots of food choices and I would be very surprised if anyone couldn't find something that they would like. As well as buffet restaurants there's also a grill, Italian,Mexican and Asian restaurant. We never had a bad meal. The drinks are free flowing and the soft drinks, beer, wine and sangria are all there for you to help yourself. No queues. The staff are lovely, friendly and go out of their way to make you feel special. There are activities throughout the day such as pilates, aqua fit, dancing, archery, darts,billiards etc. There is entertainment every evening both near the pool and on the main stage. Our favourite was the Queen tribute. The hotel is in a quiet location opposite the hard rock hotel. So there's very few shops, restaurants or bars nearby. This suited us as we wanted a relaxing holiday. However the hotel does run a free daily bus service to Las americas which we used once. In addition there's a frequent bus service to costa adege from the bus stop at the top of the road. Don't be put off by coackroach stories, we didn't see a single one during our stay. …

Hotel's Favourite
We have returned from a stay at the Bahia Principe Sunlight Tenerife and had a fantastic time. The All Inclusive options for food and entertainment both varied and enjoyed by both kids and adults. We stayed in a junior suite sea side view and the view over the sea was great to wake up to. A bit of a trek up two lots of four flights of stairs, lift available for both sets however it was good to walk off the buffet! Room very clean and restocked with water in the mini fridge every day. Food was great and varied, all staff we encountered were friendly - especially Antonia and Nancy the smiles and greetings were really appreciated. There was a chap from outside too who was great but didn't get his name - very accommodating even so when working under very busy conditions all day. There is something for every palette food wise, breakfasts huge piles of pancakes, fruits cereals and cooked breakfast and churros! We loved the mojo and Canarian potatoes. If you moan about the food options here you are a fussy eater. Varied choice with theme nights and you get the option of booking on to the a la carte, we did the Grill and the Mexican. The only problem were the only time slots left - 18:30 which was a bit early for us as the days were very busy. We really enjoyed the Grill, fantastic staff and food with a lovely touch of being able to see the food being cooked. Great ambience too and we had the gorgeous sunset. The Mexican we didn't rate as highly, still okay but the buffet Mexican night was just as good and you weren't restricted to time slots. Again all staff efficient and very friendly which makes a difference to the experience! We stayed over Halloween and the effort put into this was great. From the kids entertainment dress up and pumpkin carving, making treat boxes and trick or treating around the hotels - to the decoration of the restaurant greeted with a cocktail and the dessert options, so much effort was put in. Also being serenaded by a mariachi band was a lovely touch. Fantastic way to celebrate. The pool bar was great staff really good, again very busy but always a friendly smile. Especially Edgar who was very personal and always had a cheeky grin - also gives a hearty dash of Ron Miel. The cleanliness of the hotel is due to the hard working staff. Every day up early cleaning floors and polishing. All facilities cleaned to a very high standard and we were always welcomed with friendly smiles and greetings whilst they were doing so. A credit to the hotel. Only comment would be some of the pool tiles could do with replacing and some TLC around the edges - a bit of a spruce up. The hotel needs more sunbeds, as already mentioned each taken every morning and a mad dash to do so. We were out a few days and on returning later managed to get the odd one but otherwise you didn't have a chance. There is the option of other hotel which also got full too. Our welcome on Reception by Francis was fantastic, cheeky chappy made the experience very smooth! All reception staff amazing bar one. Ricardo has zero customer relation skills. Had no interest in helping, answer was he didn't know and gave the impression of us asking a question being an inconvenience. This ended with us missing out on things in the hotel, we used the one across the way. Certain things such as locations in the hotel he should know, he was rude and dismissive and not at all in keeping with our experience of other staff members who went above and beyond. This needs rectifying as if this had been our first impressions it would have a big impact. We nearly marked 4 stars for this alone but one bad egg is a shame to all the rest of the hard working effort of staff. Shop great, we thought the prices were reasonable for the convenience. Both hotels facilities were good. We enjoyed the minigolf - some tricky holes. You can get ping pong bats from reception, with deposit. We bought one from the hotel shop. Lovely walk to Playa Paraiso down through the sister hotel. Car hire very good and easily done through the sister hotels, we pre booked with them online in advance turned up and no issues. Entertainment team all of them work tirelessly and this is shown in the joy the kids get from it. Kidsclub Erica, Pablo and I think Anaya were all amazing and put so much effort into ensuring the kids have fun. Much appreciated, our daughter was sad to leave them - particularly with the Halloween events. Great team working around the pool and had archery waterpolo aqua zumba, so much on offer. Inflatables in the pool was fantastic. We did Loro Parque, Siam Park and Mount Teide, would definitely recommend. Great days out with some fantastic views and experiences. Lastly, the app had lots of info about the hotel and we found it useful. Loved the key card in the bracelet- such a good idea instead of faffing with key cards. We could only recommend, all had a fantastic time and only a few niggles which can't dampen such a great experience. Thank you Bahia Principe! (Plus theme tune sticks in your head). …

This hotel is so disappointing. The bedrooms and bathrooms need refurbishment actually the whole of the hotel does. Beds uncomfortable pillows hard and lumpy The food is terrible bland tasteless and the restaurants are soulless. We opted for the A/I plus what a con they only have one type of wine which is like paint stripper or a few branded drinks. The pool area is dirty,beds uncomfortable and we are yet to find one umbrella that actually works. There is nothing to do around the hotel no nice little bars to visit unless you want to go over a dirt track which is dangerous with uneven pathways and a steep hill to climb. This hotel does have people return year after year it would be nice of them to show these people respect and clean the place up. The entertainment in the main area is hit and miss but the amount of cockroaches just turned me off the place. We did ask to move but Jet2 wanted an extra 2k. In my opinion this hotel should be graded as 2/3 star definitely not 4. …

We arrived at the hotel and was impressed with the entrance and the grandeur of it only to discover that we had been dropped off at the sister hotel (Costa Adeje) and where informed that we where in the smaller hotel up the hill . We then checked in at the sunlight Tenerife , which we where greeted by a lovely lad very cheerful and friendly , then a nice gentleman took us to our room which was really nice and the balcony was massive overlooking the pool and had a sea view . We had a look round the hotel which seemed nice but felt a bit disappointed as it didn’t seen as impressive as the sister hotel so the next day we went and had a look around the sister hotel and don’t get me wrong it was massive and very modern and lovely but I felt that I had made the right choice booking the sunlight Tenerife it had a more family friendly vibe just a nicer feeling about it . The staff make this hotel they work so hard to maintain high standards. The rooms could do with a make over but they where kept very clean couldn’t fault this . The food was lovely great choice couldn’t stop eating . We visited the grill and Asian, bit disappointed with the grill felt a bit rushed in there by the staff , the Asian on the other hand was really nice and staff friendly and didn’t feel rushed . The staff in the main buffet restaurant where so friendly and polite they worked none stop serving drinks and cleaning the tables they are a credit to the hotel . Things I loved about this hotel where the drinks where self service beer on tap , red wine ,white wine, sangria, smoothies, soft drinks and water and hot drinks so you could just help yourself to anything yo wanted , you only queued for spirits . Also you room key was in your wrist band which was great as not carrying a key around or losing it . They had entertainment singers and shows on which where good every night . The hotel doesn’t have much around you have to get a taxi or bus to places but I knew this when I booked , I just wanted a chilled relaxing time away in the sun and that’s exactly what I got . Thank you Bahia sunlight Tenerife for a lovely holiday 😎🌞 Also we never had an issue getting sun bed they put ropes up till 8.00am a few people sneaked under but there was no need you could still get a bed after 9.30…

Our family meet ups at the Bahia hotels in Tenerife every November are brilliant. From arriving at the hotel the reception staff are very helpful and welcoming.the restaurant service and food is excellent. the bar and restaurant staff very cheerful . In the evenings a great choice of entertainment in 3 areas. the italian,steakhouse evening meals were excellent. Day activities or sunbathe by the pools, great walks around the area. Great relaxing holiday.

After touring around the Atlantic for a week thank the lord for an additional three night stay to detox and be at one with nature…. As if… another day, another buffet… the customer service was perfection. Kathy came flying in from the UK as a support act, leaving a sticky trail whenever she strutted when peaking at all the budgie smugglers in abundance. The food was just delicious here- so impressed- especially with the Asian restaurant… the best sushi i have ever had the pleasure. The buffet was impressive too… kathy was refused entry on one occasion due to the excessive spiders leg’s peaking from her bikini… ‘wrap a towel around you’ i spat through gritted teeth ‘when piling that plate- guests don’t want a portion of your fajita with their chips’. Beneath the twinkling stars at dusk, singers sang 80s classics with a Spanish accent…. Shakira, Shakira… the room was spacious and immaculately clean. The beds are SO COMFORTABLE AND HUGE… good job as i needed a hoist at this point to manoeuvre my behind. We had a blast. We did a podcast… we got to age 22… kenny was gone following car gate whereby he had launched eggs and tomatoes… hopefully episode two will be filmed next year back at this most wondrous venue. Have been visiting this hotel for over 20years and this was by far the worst visit. Accommodation tired and in need of repair. Disgusting shower curtain, old tiles with cracks in and ancient shower. Beds are uncomfortable with massive dips, mattresses need changing! Air conditioning is not great and rooms are extremely basic and poorly decorated. Pool area not clean and the sun beds are so old they should have been changed years ago. Staff used to be friendly and to be fair the reception staff are lovely but restaurant staff are hit and miss especially in the Brazilian that used to be but is now casa Bonita. Poor food selection, god knows what happened to the omelette? Coffee not as good and I’ve never seen flies at this hotel but my last visit I actually couldn’t eat food as flies were all over it, not to mention most of it was cold. We’ve gone from, stocked fridge with beer and soft drinks, welcome fruit and wine, slippers and robe, turn down and chocolate (black band) to a robe and fruit. Drinks tables in the bar areas, coffee machine and cakes to help yourself to. I could go on! We were a bit nervous having read some of the reviews. We needn’t have been. The staff were mostly really helpful and the hotel and rooms, although could do with a bit of updating, very clean. We’ve stayed in a lot of AI hotels and the food here was much better than at most. Always a good buffet choice and the Italian, Grill and especially the Asian restaurants were great. No issues with sun loungers and interestingly met lots of people who were on repeat visits. We will be next winter 😀

Spent 10 days here as a party of 3, with it being our first time in Tenerife we were not disappointed. Reception staff were always happy to help, polite, and professional whenever we dealt with them or had a request. Never had an issue getting sunbeds throughout the day until the last 2 days of our holiday it seemed a lot more people had arrived which meant they were limited, but there were no major problems. The reviews of the cockroaches, we had seen 2 throughout the whole time. One was outside near the pool and the other was near the shop in the lobby. Definitely not a problem, or we just were lucky to not see any more. The buffet was great, always something to choose from whether it was salads or hot food. Plenty of choice but I’d repetitive each week but I find that most AI are this way. We tried the Mexican, Italian, and Grill a la cartes during our stay. We would definitely say the Mexican and grill were our favourites. We found the service in the Italian a bit poor but that’s our opinion. The staff are amazing and would go above and beyond to help, or make your day. They’re definitely what makes it! Probably our only cons: We wasn’t impressed much with the entertainment over this side, it seemed to be a lot better in the Costa Adeje side (sister hotel) but I guess it’s bigger there. The hotel is fairly secluded but not a massive bother if you just want to relax and do not a lot during your holiday. Another visit to this hotel and again does not let down, quick check in procedure but room not quite ready, so we went to resteraunt for food, and our luggage was taken to room for us, room clean and great size, shower powerful, and bath with bubbles👍, great view, cleaned everyday if you want and fresh water every day, TV not clever channel wise and flickering channels on British stations. Pool always clean (until parents allow their children in with no swim nappies ) and a decent temperature, activity team really good constant things to do, (don't miss the foam party on a Sunday) you can wonder over to sister hotel and use the pools and snack bars too, restaurants food good but not as good as before, need to pick their game up a bit, a la carte restaurant choice is a bit hit and miss, Asian always good but need to book these as soon as arrive as slots go quick, but steak house one, nice bit of steak but chips freezing, also seem to be the only place you find staff a bit abrupt in the steakhouse one, if you don't opt for the extra wine option or more expensive steaks they seem to shun away from you. Asian staff brilliant, but this restaurant is on the Tenerife side where overall staff is excellent from maids to management, We used the free coach to another resort which was handy and a good day out, coach driver brilliant but again you need to book, evening entertainment out on balcony area with live singers every night, smoking allowed in certain areas, we noticed a few couples we seen before, and also you can see wristbands of different colours which indicate the times they have visited, which I think reflects on hotel, To sum up the hotel is great for middle age and older couples because not a lot around to go too, but also there were families here with young children and older teenagers, but they did not complain, kids club always busy and lots of staff. We always make some good friends, this time thumbs up to our Scottish mates, made us laugh constantly, We will return. …
